I can say that getting a hero mech for $15.00 is cool but I dislike that you need to buy a regular mech pack and then add it on after the fact so in essence if you want the Marauder BH variant you have to pay $35.00 minimum. I'll need to take a look at all the hardpoints and stuff to see what they've done with the mechs and compare them against the TRO but at first glance it looks good. One thing that does concern is me though is the animations. Concept art has always looked really good from the MWO concept dept however when you translate those in to game they are only about 50/50 for making it look super awesome. Unfortunately this is one of those "pre-orders" where we won't get to see anything until our money is already gone. It's like playing Canadian Roulette LOL
Yeah, saw that aswell. If you compare it with the Orion, it should be the same since it has the same speed values on the engine listed in the standard setup for the MAD's, a 275 will max out at 59,4 or 65,3 with Speed Tweak. Hmm, how the hell will that hero keep cool? Dual ERPPC's ain't easy ontop of 3x MLAS - the Gauss is one thing but the rest ain't a picnic.
Barring some unforeseen quirks, rebalance, won't be "META". Base versions look fun though, but Hero need a 300 Engine Cap. Russ is already considering POSSIBLY boosting the Engine Cap and possibly increasing agility. Will know more soon, hopefully.
Standard, get X discount if you buy Y. I don't see anything wrong with that. Darn, got so excited by getting the MAD that I even didn't notice,... And I don't even realy care,... 7x energy + 1x ballistic!
Wait, where did you find the Bounty Hunter's engine cap? It comes with the engine it has in the lore (225 XL), so I wasn't too surprised by that, but didn't see anything about the variants' engine caps at all. Bounty Hunter comes with a whopping 7 energy hardpoints which are rounded up by a super-high ballistic and it mounts JJ. Alltogether in the best weight (75t) in zhe whole game. I don't want to bee too enthusiastic, but this is a brutal piece if mech. For me it was the basic package + Bounty Hunter. I like the special camo of the (S) version contained in the collector package, but double the prize simply wasn't worth the camo, 30 extra days of PT and some additional cockpit items.
You can find it in the row about Max Engine Rating for each Variant. Here you can follow the discussion in the official MWO forum: http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/209021-bounty-hunters-marauder-engine-cap-275-does-it-need-a-raise/ Imo the Design looks good, but that engine cap, why?
Yeah, finally found it myself, thanks! I was literally reading over it time after time without recognising the line was there... shame on me. I am actually fine with a 275-sized max engine on paper ( =65.x-ish kph?), but obv. wouldn't bother if the Bounty Hunter got a little push towards a 300-sized engine, which actually looks like the current consensus on Twitter.
I've been debating buying the Max pack myself. As well as changing the MechSpecs logo from the Zeus to the Marauder cause yes it really is my favorite mech. I might even install MWO in December lol
Have to pull it out of the background. That will take some time to do right and I'm still in the middle of painting the new house so I can move in to it.
After carefull consideration and evaluating money... I think i'll pass. Might buy the BH later on for MC (might buy it later if they increase engine cap). It's a very few mechs for $35 and even less for $55, with very little special about them. (goes back to sleep and dreams of Marauders)
Ha! Just be glad I had an attack of conscience and declined Meteor's offer. Too bad @surn disappeared. Will just have to hold it open long enough to at least put the Marauder on the logo.
Engine cap appears now to be changed on the store page to a 300 max. Confirmed by Alexander Garden: http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/20...uder-is-here/page__view__findpost__p__4694084
