I'm glad to see someone sportin' smplas. I've been running them in my jenner. I think the quicker damage delivery makes a big difference for hit and run/shoot and turn tactics.
Do you really find the SPLas to be that much better than MLas? When I go down the list, they only have slightly better output than SLas, and the same 90m range limitation. MLas have similar heat cost and tonnage. While all have the same crit slot requirement, if you were to compare the MLas to SLas, the SPLas pretty much has all the bad of both, it just shoots faster. That bonus seems nice, except if you hold the MLas on for 0.6 seconds, you equal what the SPLas can do in 0.5 seconds (3 damage).
No skribs, they are not even in the same discussion as the ML. That's the entire point... SPL is probably the worst energy weapon in the game at the moment! ^^ So yes, if you watch this video, just imagine what it's like if those are MLs instead. 6ML going 80 with that much armor and torso twisting is going to be able to do some damage, even in the current meta. Trouble is staying patient and finding the right angles, or a good group composition.
