So I don't feel that this build is terribly practical. It runs pretty hot, and the Nova Cat is a terrible brawler because of the large torso and weak armor. However, the sheer amount of damage you can dish out with this thing makes it sort of work. Anything and everything will melt before you. If they don't focus you down you will turn even Annihilators into scrap in seconds. You can pop lights like they're nothing if they stray too close. The biggest drawback of this mech is the armor so don't be the first one in. Stay in behind some heavier mechs and try to dish out damage. If you do end up focused the only thing that will save you is that you can probably do more damage than anyone else around. If you don't like the large lasers you can swap them for MPLs and extra ammo/heatsinks but you'll end up with some wasted tonnage. You can also do something like this for some extra ammo and an AMS. It's not meta, it's not optimal, it's not the best thing on the block. However, when it works it's amazing.
Still waiting for a C-Bill release on these 'Mechs. Anyway, I kinda like this concept. Your original has 4 spare slots, which you can use to convert the ERLLs to HLLs, just as a way to increase damage, albeit at the cost of range and cooldown/burn-time.
So I had to post an update on this build since Solaris is out. It's a glass cannon in division 6, but downright terrifying. Ditch some of the ammo for more heatsinks and go pop some Annihilatior CTs. I killed an Atlas in literally 6 seconds or so last night with this build. It's a terror.
Division 6? Division 2! I like the idea of skilling it for S7, Most of my novacats attract too much attention in QP.
