I'm not asking for your favorite build, the one you run the most, or the one people ask you to bring. I'm asking which mech you have the best KDR in, according to the MWO stats (specifically, mechs that you have elited since they started tracking per-mech or which you have played a substantial amount since then). Personally, I was surprised by mine. I would have thought one of my Assaults or maybe my Yen-Lo would have taken the cake, but my Yen-Lo came in at second highest with 1.96 compared to my CN9-D which has a KDR of 3.00. I didn't even think I had that good of a build in it, but apparently it works well for me. So what is your best mech, statistically speaking? Is it the one you thought it would be?
My top 3 according to MWO stats? CICADA CDA-2B: 2.25 (16 drops) CENTURION CN9-A: 2.23 (189 drops) CATAPULT CPLT-C4: 2.22 (16 drops) Not all of these mechs have a great deal of drops and most of them are in PUB matches. Stats are deceptive though. If you have 1 drop in a Cicada and kill 3 mechs and don't suffer a death you have a 3.00 KD ratio. If you have 2 drops and kill 4 mechs (2 in each match) and 0 deaths you have a 4.00 KD ratio.
HUNCHBACK HBK-4P KDR 2.42 time 02:21:27 2nd JENNER JR7-F KDR 1.19 time 09:57:02 Kinda stunned at the KDR in the 4P , total surprise. Likewise the 7F ( I thought it'd be higher )..... What I find interesting is that my other HBK's and JR7's have much lower KDR's, but I've spent similar time in the variants of each frame. I suspect the disparity is down to two things. 1. the HBK is the one I went through the basic efficiencies most recently, and thus my skills/tactics were less noob-ish. 2. the Jenner 7F is the one I'm most likely to use in group drops Not much as a comparison though, I only own HBK's and JR7's
Michael, That's why I specifically said Mechs you've spent a lot of time with (my "eliting it" suggestion was merely an example). I don't think I have quite 100 drops in with my Centurion, but I feel its had enough drops that a few random events won't skew the scores too much. What's your 6+ mech with 20 drops in? Verbosity, That's quite a gap! Literally more than double in the 4P what your #2 mech is. You bring up a good point, my KDR gets higher with each chassis I play (although I still can't get a high score in a Spider 5K), and Centurions are my most recent.
SDR-5D Spider -- 2.18 in 106 matches JR7-D Jenner -- 1.91 in 283 matches (100% PUGs with no comms) I'd have more matches in both, but I've been playing Neverwinter for the past couple of weeks and have had zero time for MW:O. And my KDR would be better but I'm a crazy mofo who doesn't care if his 'Mech lives or dies right now. Once things actually start to matter, my tactical doctrine will change from "running around like a chicken with its head cut off" to something actually resembling tactics. The JR7-F Jenner will be joining them at the top once I get back to playing MW:O again, as I had just started having a lot of fun with its all-laser armament just before starting Neverwinter. And yes, I knew I would enjoy light 'Mechs the most before I ever played MW:O. I find them challenging to pilot in MW:O, which is key.
I used to care about my K/D ratio but once I learned, months ago, that stats were being reset upon achievements being made and implemented I've gone ahead and been having fun and just grinding. I'll start playing for keeps when it actually matters in terms of badges and achievements. HIGHLANDER HGN-733P: 6.00 3 deaths, 18 kills, 22 drops. All in 4 mans or 8 mans. NO PUB matches and yes a small amount of kill stealing LOL but you can't help it with such long range weaponry. My WORST mech? Spider 5K 15 drops and a 0.17 KD ratio. Hhaahaha I used GXP to elite it and move out of the Spiders.
HIGHLANDER HGN-732 55 Drops 3.91 K/D 05:10:43 HIGHLANDER HGN-733 35 Drops 3.47 K/D 03:19:04 CATAPHRACT CTF-3D 66 Drops 2.69 K/D 06:05:48 dosent suprise me tbh, jumpsnipers~ Waht did suprises me was that i have better K/D in my AWS-8R (LRM Boat, not played in LRMpocalypse) then in my D-DC and better K/D in my Jenner-F then my Raven-3L. but... a significant higher Winrate in said Raven, funny edit; after thinking about it, it dosent suprise my that much, both AWS and JR7 are Alphabuilds edit2: worst Mechs RVN-4x and SDR-5K no DHS, no Endo, nothing - both ~20drops and 0.52 and 0.56 K/D just pushed em through Basic and sold em after, God i hated em...
KDR for a mech you don't play a lot is usually way off. My best mech is a Centurion CN9-A with a K/D of 2 even. I don't even own that Mech, it was a trial mech in my first week of MWO. My best owned Mech is a Jager-DD with 1.88. My absolutely worst (owned) is a Spider SDR-5 "D" (for "Death Trap") with a whopping K/D ratio of 0.26.
These are the two I have the most time in the seat in since they reset individual mech stats. Other older mechs would have probably been better, but would definitely have more games in. Over-all I have 2600 games in. I would say I PUG solo for more than half of my games. Basically if its at night EST I'm most likely dropping in a 4 or 8 man with HJ, any other time and its solo around kids and house work.
CN9-AL: 2.08 233+ drops. My first mech and often tinkered around with. Wang: 2.14 169+ drops My highlanders have same or higher KDR but I'm only counting 150+
I'm still new to MWO, been playing for about a week now. I've played most of the other MechWarrior games, including table-top. My favorite mech on pen-paper was the CICADA with 6 Medium Lasers. So after playing with all the starter mechs for a little while, enough time to get the C-Bills to buy my own CICADA here's my first mech stats as of today. MECH: CICADA CDA-2A Matches Played: 166 Wins: 88 Losses: 78 W/L Ratio: 1.13 Kills: 68 Deaths: 94 K/D Ratio: 0.72 Damage Done: 24,422 XP Earned: 68,706 Time Played: 14:12:40
Playing not quite a month, Centurions CN9-A at 1.35 and CN9-AL at 1.17, which sucks because I only own the things to Elite my Wang (0.84). I did a lot more learning to play on the Wang, so I haven't finished outplaying my initial suck and bringing the Wang up. I've only JUST picked up my first assault but my D-DC score is a "respectable" 1.06 considering I'm still very much playing with builds and playstyle after 2 weeks of mediums. Interesting side note: I have an 83.34% hit rate with MLas, but only a 66.79% with SSRMs. Never miss indeed!
K/D means little in this game. In fact, may mean you hold back too much and let the team soften targets before you get involved. Even damage dealt can be a poor indicator, since the longer you play, and the more you know each mech, the more accurate you get, requiring less damage to bring down the enemy. Mechs I have the most time in (by far): Stalker 5S: 5 LL (2, 2, 1 in 3 groups) with 2 AMS and STD300 (IIRC) Stalker 3F: 4 LL (right 2, left 2 in 2 groups) and 2 SRM's (3rd group), STD 300 (IIRC) Both have somewhat low armor for Stalkers, but simply get results. A single AMS is almost useless, but 2--now that's useful. My current favorites are a Flame with AC20 + 4ML, around 70KPH with speed tweak, and a Blackjack DC with the same loadout but an XL engine. If I could only have 4 mechs, these would be the ones, even giving up the Misery, Heavy Metal, Yen Lo and tons of other standards.
Unsurprisingly, it's this: CATAPHRACT CTF-3D: 138 drops, 90 wins, 151 kills, 62 deaths, 2.44 KDR PPCs and poptarting are totally fine...
Once I got them figured out, my Hunchbacks are the best things I can bring to the battlefield. Followed by my spiders. Followed by my Roomsweeper (2x LBX-10 K2). My KDR is lousy (hovering around 1.0 for these 'mechs), as is my WLR. However, I get compliments (or curses) almost every time I bring one of them out.
My highest K/D ratio is on my Atlas D-DC, but with only 10 drops it doesn't mean anything. My highest ratio on a mech with more than 50 drops is 2.57 on a 6 PPCs Stalker (72 kills and 28 on 57 drops). The worst being I suck with this mech. Next 2.05 on a 6 ML jenner (301 kills and 147 death on 279 drops).
Here are some sortings as of 5-31 - I have 10 chassis with 50+ matches played : I dunno, I guess Jager-S? Probably wouldn't have thought that initially, but lately I have been running a 2 LBX/4 MLas variant that does well... for the foreseeable future though I will be stomping around in the new D-DC I just bought on Wed. KDR of 6 currently...
I can say without shame the Stalker-5S, 6-PPC Dreadnought. With the Atlas-D-DC "Recon's* Chunker" Coming in a close second since I ran it since closed beta. *Note: By saying "Recon's" Chunker I mean the Chunker build that I slightly modified. All credit for this build goes to Tuku and Sniper.
