Going to be much hotter than the Nova equivalent, but the mech has ECM so it can stay hidden when jumping above terrain.

    For better convergence:

    With Update

For CW Drop A Double Heat Sink And Get ECM Same For Pugs If You Can Handle The Heat Needs Shock Absorb Module For Jump Sniping And PPC Module Cool Down I Love This Sniper I Hope PGI Makes This Mech Cooler For PPC's So I Can Have ECM Because it Runs Hot But This Version Runs A Little Cooler

No reason to drop ecm. The range is smaller for covering others already. It is still a great thing for a lone sniper.
Especially true for pugs, cause them stupid team are mostly dumb ducks spreading out anyways.

    5/5,
Fun little mech for being an annoying little shit, really painful to play before you get those ECM nodes though

    5/5,
Best medium PPC mech, like as Artic Wolf. If use left hand (H) with additional 20 armor u can drop it for tonnage... but loose right torse out yr firepower.

I skilled up one of my Shadowcats with this dual PPC loadout, but I have to say, even fully skilled it is a little too hot to be what I would call a good build. You just don't have the DPS to be anything more than an annoyance on the battlefield. To get a good game in you rely on a long protracted drawn out engagement. If the combat occurs at a fast pace, you will not have much of an opportunity to get work done.

If you find a sniper hidey hole position somewhere chances are you won't be able to do enough damage to the enemy in order to influence the outcome of the game, and you will be the 12th mech hunted down and killed (this also goes for the 2xERLL shadowcat). If you do take this build I suggest at the very least instead of taking an isolated sniper hide position somewhere you instead take on the role of a 2nd line support fire mech. At least then you will be able to lend your ECM to the team and possibly assist with some pinpoint focus fire.

However, I would say despite the heat this build is marginally more effective than an ERLL shadowcat. The 2xERPPC's allows the ability to get some solid pinpoint damage in on enemies that are able to roll off laser damage easily.

My Shadowcat has ended up in this configuration but, like you say, it's almost pointless in Quick Play. However, it rounds out my long-range Clan deck rather nicely -.just be sure to park up next to a big bud with no ecm and share the inviso-goodness!

There's a particular omnipod for the left arm that gives 20 armor, so if you right-load the PPC's (just like I do with 2 LPL's), you can strip all of the armor from the left arm for extra tonnage, have good convergence, and not have your shield arm be totally useless.

Yes, this is the omnipod set I am running too, and I believe it is the best optimization.
