This build is a well trodden path already but I thought it worth putting in black and white on one of the tankiest AS7 variants. uac20, mrm30 x2, 2 mlas in the ct, le350 with 5 mounted heatsinks (crucial) endo, ams, 3 tons uac20 ammo, 2 tons mrm ammo. Tie the autocannon and mlas together in weapon group 1 and the mrms together in group 2. You lead with group 1 and use the mrms when the enemy faces you and you have a clear shot at their centre mass. Mrms are fun and effective and all but the spread is nasty so try to use them for close range gut punches. I seem to have far better rounds leaning heavily on the uac20 and lasers sparing the mrm use until I have a nice shot. This way I'm doing high damage without blowing my heat budget between coolshots. Atlas has some of the best shield arms going, so run them stripped of offensive weapons, maxed out with armour, and in brawls double tap (sometimes alpha double tap) and twist. The value of and joy in tearing giant chunks out of mechs and then soaking up nearly *all* retaliation in dead arms is undeniable. Your prey is mainly other assaults and paper assaults (those with the assault name but low/no survivability quirks) and anything else with big profiles and <70kph speed. Off the top of my head you'll breeze through battlemasters, zeus, dire wolves, warhawks, banshees, maulers and awesomes. Other Atlases, Annihilators, marauders (damage rolls to well) of all flavours, fafnirs and the banshee (great shield arms) 3m are to be dealt with with backup or you'll live at the end but far to damaged to do much more.
