In just two alphas, you'll CT almost any mech. Save some of the really big girls, but they go down in three pumps. Obviously I last longer with fat chicks. I can't even get one pump in for a sexy little Jenner though... Embarrassing. :unsure::wub: You're fully armored, but the XL makes you as good as a glass cannon. Fire, twist to absorb damage into your arm, dodge back into cover and cool down. If a 'Mech's alone you can safely alpha twice for the kill and shutdown for about 4 seconds. One alpha = 65-70 % heat in the training grounds.
Two Pump Tony got me 51st Place on tourney day 2 this weekend. So, after all those matches the XL is driving me absolutely bat-shit-crazy. I also wanted to CASE the Gauss 'cus that thing keeps going kaboom. Here's my STD engine rebuild: Remaining in battle with 2 ER PPC's is still a huge asset to your team.
Did you consider replacing 2 of those ERPPCs with regular versions for better heat management? With Gauss and double ERPPC infights should still be doable, and long range duels usually don't take place outside the optimum range of the regular PPCs. Just thinking.
Sure have, and it also works quite well. It's really a personal preference. I get really frustrated when a Jenner bum rushes me and I can only tickle him with my PPC's. Plus I prefer to engage from range when I can, so the ER PPC is my personal pick.
Speaking as a Stalker player, the ER-PPC + PPC combo is actually quite nice. You would still have a 35 alpha up close or at long range, and you're much more heat efficient with your 55 alpha at mid-range (and, when running hot, you can have a more efficient 35 alpha). Regardless, your description is hilarious.
