I wanted to try Triple ERPPC on the Awesome, and this Variant seems to be the perfect one for this. 22 DHS to manage the insane Heatproduction. If you want find it too hot you can go for PPCs, though they have Minimum Range you have some Backuplasers. If you want more Speed you can go for ES and the max.Engine by sacrificing two Heatsinks, but needs a skilled Heatmanagement. Simply Chainfire the Cannons!!! Alternate "Cool" Version: Alternate "Speed" Version: Testrun: Blagg
Won't help, standard and ER are counted together. Personally I'd go for 2 standard on the torso and one ER in the arm.
I am still wondering whether it's worth to get the 9M. Seems as if there are some loadouts which are working, but this thing is still an Awesome. At least some fanatics still seem to work on this mech... I am very interested how this version works.
The Awesome is great as Missile Boat (8R) or fast Energy Boat/Power Sniper (9M) or a Hybrid (8V). If you can manage to keep your Distance the Awesome is a strong Support Fighter, but not so good as Brawler. However the Arrival of the Battlemaster and it's versatile Variants made the Awesomes almost obsolete! I still love to pilot this Mech because of it's great Cockpit.
That's the problem. The Awesome already did not get enough love, and bam! they release the Battlemaster that can do almost everything better. I still enjoy my 9M very much (it might be the only Assault mech I regularly pilot), but I'm afraid only old die-hard Awesome fans will keep on the chassis. About "is the 9M worth it?", my opinion is it's not about the 9M (which worth it, even if it's damn expensive) but about the other variants. The 8R is a great missile boat (the only capable of a 60 missiles volley?), but I found the others a pain in the ass to grind, mostly because they are soooo slooooow.
