Edit: I put it together this weekend. It is a lot of fun to play with. The shotgun and dakka together is pretty brutal. Out of maybe a dozen games, my worst games were still around 300-400 damage. I only ran out of ammo in one game with 3 on our side vs 2 on theirs and the lasers worked great at mopping up. I had a few deaths with most of them CT coring. One headshot and a couple of LT deaths. Even though you're fairly fast, avoid the temptation to run out in front and terminator with it, rather stick with your lance and use your speed to strike and fade as well as respond to lancemates in trouble. I agree, but then again, sometimes the XL works. I'd still like to try it. Options would be drop a heat sink/ammo for more armor. There's really no way to squeeze a 340 in there without losing something major. Edit: On the bright side, since I have a 300 in my Atlas, I can test the basic platform out sans speed.
I decided to try out an LBX10 and 2xAC2 build for fun tonight and was quite startled by how effective it was. So I went to see if anyone had posted a build like it and found this post. My version is very similar to the STD-300 version above but trades a DHS for another ton of LBX10 ammo and rearranges the armor and ammo locations. I thought that match had to be a fluke, but I had another 1K damage match shortly after.
