My first build on this forum!! Been stalking in the shadows for a while and i love this site, has changed my gameplay and taught me more than i need to know Most of the builds i run are already posted so i thought i would add this here after toying around a bit. Wait for a push or a well timed flank, dont poke your head out till their close enough to bite!! Then shred whatever is left of their armor. (it isnt meta but i love close range in your face action) Groups: 1. 2x LBX10 2. 4x Mlas (linked) 3. 4x Mlas (chain) Greetings from Kenya The Wrath
Welcome on the forum! I like the double LB10X. Too bad you can use only 2 of the 4 ballistics hardpoint, only leaving you with 4 lasers (while an Atlas-D for example can also carry missiles). Did you tried 2 LB10X + 3 (ER)LLas? Less short ranged, I think it could work.
Hmm . . . 3xerll's at range when you can retreat and cool off, otherwise use them in a one two combo/ chain + 2x LBX when getting hot and personal - I like it!! Gonna give that a try and post some screens later today (if i get a good match - tough with 300+ ping). Cheers
Could work, but you'd need to downgrade the engine. I also can't imagine burning through 90 rounds of AC/10 ammo, so I dropped a few tons and added some armor (which you'll need at that slower speed).
Don't be so sure. I load 105 shots in my Atlas and sometimes run out of ammo. (LB10X is your "cool" weapon you always shoot, it goes fast)
2xLBX + 4xMLas is somehow underpowered for an Assault. At least load one big Laser, even better two. The STD350 is ok if you run a Laserboat and have too many unused tons. I find 60kph as minimum speed is sweet for the Banshee. Everything less is only ok if you run Sniperbuilds. Here is my suggestion:
Fairly depends ur playstyle. Im quite aggresive; searching the front line, new enemies, keeping my mech on the move as long as i can so i can be the first to lock enemies, engaging them at max range often, knowing that im dealing negligible dmg, then closing in. I rarely stay in a sniper position often, at most 3-4 shoots. Actually i only stay out of the fire line in LRM-boats, and even in them i choose 2nd-line-duty to make sure my missiles have as little fly time as possible, and at the same time making sure that they are hitting something instead of crushing in buildings and so. In this way i deplete often even WTF-amounts of ammo, so for me, 105 LB10s are normally a "good-compromise" of ammo more than a "im-not-gonna-deplete-this". Its more like im gonna deplete them in only 1/5 or less of my battles. Also my preference for AMS, BAP and STD engines, cause i often attract fire on me since the very start, and a fail-proof is a must. Hope this makes clear my point, i presume that Epikt point too, as it must be quite similar, that means, Epikt playstyle involves dropping a lot of ammo for some reason
Had a STD320 laying around so I tried this last night as I leveled BNCs... Not nearly as effective as the 3x AC/5 builds, but, it was quite effective at intimidation! 27 points of damage to one component then a couple big BOOMS (chainfired my LBX) Made even the bigger mechs turn around and run. For some reason, even though the damage is spread, most pilots seem more intimidated by a shotgun than a constant stream of UACs or AC5s... The damage and threat is MUCH higher from smaller, single projectile autocannons, but, the big cluster shakes their boots! Anyway, fun build, but, I'll stick to AC/5s.
Tried this again over the weekend (2x LBX10, 3x LLas) and MAN can this thing wreak face! 900 damage in a round that I died barely halfway through... It just breathes fire! It's slow, so you can use those LLas on approach in most battles and hardly get noticed, then, once you're within 400m, open up the LBX20 and watch 'em melt! Damn. Lovin' it!
