Good afternoon everyone, This is a 3M build I whipped up in order to utilize the oddball weapons slots on the mech. I am still grinding out the funds for my second banshee (the E is next) so I till be a long while before I get the chance to take this mech out for a ride. The primary weapons are a 6-pack of medium pulse lasers, three in each side torso. An ERPPC takes up the 4th slot in the right torso to provide much needed mid-long range firepower. The head mounted TAG and AMS add a little extra depth to the design. These can be yanked for a 7th MPulse laser or other trinkets if desired. A total of 23 double heat sinks manages the pulse lasers adequately well (which is telling of how problematic the current laser/heat system is...) but you do NOT want to include the ERPPC unless you have a death wish. The XL 400 engine is there primarily for the extra speed. The extra internal heatsinks are nice, but you only really gain an additional HS slot considering the extra engine space. It is also a luxury item as far as Thoughts?
Maybe STD Engine by replacing the MPlas for MLas for less Heatproduction and more Range. At least you can still fight if you lose a ST. But honestly - don't you think that this build is Underpowered for an Assault Class Mech? Most Heavies can outdamage you..
Suicidal Baby - Probably, I haven't really had the chance to see the performance of a banshee with a large engine and maxed skills. I would be curious how well you could arm shield at higher skill levels. Blagg - I like that design. Possibly remove the ERPPC for a standard PPC (to allow it to add to the damage of everything else). The only reason I added it to the OG is that I had clear bracket firing with the pulses. Damage wise, 36 damage / 3 sec (with 3 salvos before overheat) is pretty nasty, especially if you are targeting a damaged location. Overall I like do your design better, however.
Don't have 3M, would try similar thing with 3S instead. 3S only holds max345 engine, so I have to change it a bit. Still thinks it is underpowered. A hunchback can have higher damage (for alpha at least).
Well, brawling with XL is ok for those paper thin lights/medium and the like, where you can turn fast enough to diffuse damage and get ont of prolonged exposure to damages, or for chassis where the ST are way too small relatively to make a difference (like pre patch Orion). BNC is SLOW, which means you are not going to dodge out of the way, and even with shield arms and torso twist your ST is HUGE target. Having XL and going up close is a deathwish or worse. It is likely you get ST cored before you fully engage. And when you do, a couple alpha is all it takes. This, sure it is slower, but the firepower is ok for an assault. Also better survival rate, and zombie.
a 75kph banshee is actually pretty decent at torso twisting, though still a large target. The biggest issue I have is that all weapons are very hot, even with 23 DHS. ERPPC, MPLas, they are in my opinion specialized weapons: you pay more tonnage for a situational advantage (such as shorter burn times vs fast targets, better range distribution, and such). In the end the build is extremely specialized in its role but ultimately hot as well. Honestly, Blagg's variant is what i would run if I wanted to do 1 PPC and a bunch of small weapons (which I don't, because the JR7-F can mount all those lasers as well and I don't think ERPPC is enough weapon loadout difference between a light and an assault).
