Been using this build for a while now and it's simply disgusting. It's like a brawler AC20 and laserboat hunch duct-taped together. Even though it doesn't have as much range as the ol' alpha monster 6xPPC Stalker did, it makes up for it with the excellent heat/dps balance of the AC20 that gives it serious staying power. While some may complain about the low engine, it moves about Atlas speed and the 3S isn't even designed for speed like the other Banshees anyways (lower engine limit) For modules, I use Adv. Seismic, Cool Shot 18 + Cool Boost, and MLas Range 2. Also specific to this build, I have "thermal override" mapped to a mouse button (for those times when a short nap will result in more damage than a 3 seconds of randomized internal damage) And now, for some quick mech porn of this build if anyone's wondering what it looks like - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/61131093/banshee.png Usually I can pop out of cover and one-shot or cripple any mech that looks at me funny. For assaults, I usually stagger like so - alpha, AC20, PPC, AC20, and if they're still alive after that (here's looking at you, Atlases) I'll willingly overheat a bit to put the last few points of laser damage in and finish them off.
I'm giving you 5 stars just because this monster can actually survive the massive heat spike of it's own Alpha. Heat Simulator
Shiv? Way too small a weapon for this terrifying monstrosity. This is more like Cloud's sword (FF7) except even more cumbersome Too slow for me, combined with very poor heat efficiency (if you're planning to use both the lasers and the PPC/20) and terrible armor, but holy shit that damage.

Slightly modified build that swaps 2ML for a 3rd LL (eww ghost heat) and bumps the engine up to a STD300 (plus Maliwan colored camo, yay Borderlands!) Here's an above average round (note - armor is also slightly more frontloaded than smurfy setup) - hcCnfv_dCz4
Dude, after watching you kill that Stalker Misery near the start, I actually stopped the player, and then set it back to watch that kill again. Then I burst out laughing at what I hadn't believed I saw the first time, but which was actually real. When you hit that Misery in the side like that and insta-killed him, HE FLEW INTO THE AIR FROM THE IMPACT OF THAT SHOT!!! I literally was about to go ROFL after viewing it the second time! 5 stars, simply because of how much I LOVED watching that shot on the Misery. Oh, that was priceless!
I *busted* out laughing when I watched it. The combination of an XL Misery and the little bunny hop "ow u shootz me 2 much!" pushed me right over the edge. So much so that my wife had to see what was so fantastic. This is the one and only clip of MechWarrior that my wife has watched willingly and enjoyed.
