Similar in concept to my Ol' Painless AS7-D build, the Hell Pig boasts more back-up weapons and is geared more towards medium range combat. Although only half as damaging per shot, the AC10 provides better overall combat persistence than an AC20, with a damage potential of 600 v 560 for an AC20 from the same tonnage of ammo.

I wish that the devs had been a bit more creative with the hard points on the Boar's Head. With only a single Ballistic or Missile slot in each respective torso, any prospective Mech Jockey could very quickly find themselves up the proverbial creek without a Fusion Engine should they lose both arms. I think an amalgamation of the Atlas 'D' and 'RS' Energy hard points would have made the Boar's Head a far more interesting proposition. That, or maybe a second missile slot.

You know, I want to say "Just slap an AC/20 on there and be done with it", but after noticing just how hot this Mech can run if you're not careful, downgrading to an AC/10 with additional heatsinks might be a good idea.

I agree with you, after a lot of personal experimentation. While I used to swear by the AC/20, the 10 is just flat out giving me more reliable performance at a far more useful set of ranges. The Boar's Head is definitely different from the other Atlas configurations due to the hardpoint distribution, so you might very well be on the right track by putting it into a medium range role.

Four out of five for me.
