Another puzzle game by PGI which netted this very sweet medium mech in the end. I am not entirely sure wether it can add something new or unique to the game, but it definitely has a lot of fans out there. Source: Sarna
I'm one of the fans, I think it looks sexy as hell (though the HBK stays on top. Asymmetric hunch of destruction equals love!)
If they get the original "squat" look, it has some potential. However, with low-ish arms combining that with the Battletech lore Bushwacker's stature, it might be a rough go. Still, if they make it a short, stout mech, I'll check it out. (like this)
Looks pretty amazing to me. I have to admit this is one of my favorite IS mechs from the later TROs, though.
Unless they make it tiny, this mech is gonna be a true pain to play,... Missile launcher making your CT 10% larger. Arms just asking to be shot away. Will be XL friendly though.
This game really needs a few new weapons by now, yeah. Especially missiles where you have about 3-4 options (different launcher sizes doesn't really count as feeling like a different weapon as much as the difference between LL and PPC or AC5 and AC20 does). I'd love to see a Thunderbolt/MRM/Rocket Launcher being added.
rocket launcher does not help with the way we go through our ammo count though, but yeah thunderbolt is love. Was thinking inferno too but they are likely to suck judging from flamers. I want RAC20.
Ammo usage is not a big concern for me. It can be handled like a cheap tonnage to damage trade-off while gimping your ammo so it can only be used at the most dire situations/early in combat. Maybe you'll even have to buy it again after it's empty, much like an arty strike. Inferno might be cool if it just adds heat in a burst, flamers need too much sustained fire for that. Then again, random heat added might be terrible from a 'fun gameplay' perspective.
Oh imagine the crying if we had Thunder LRMs. Fire them into a pass, they sit until some assault that skimped on leg armor wanders through and watch the fun!
Well lots of xl engines of not a great size but mostly outfitted with upgrades and 1-2 CT energy slots so that's a start. I looked at the hard points and just shook my head - painful low arm ballistics and missile mounts, no masc, no ecm, no jj.... Unless the quirks are great this is going to struggle with shadowhawks and griffins at exactly the same weight and the current method of sizing mechs. Not like we see those either except the occasional Sparky.
I find it hard to get excited about yet another 50-55 ton IS mech. I think pretty much every variation of weapon loadout and engine is covered already
