I've had some pretty damn crazy rounds and I keep forgetting to record them despite Fraps almost always being active. For shits & giggles I'll be recording more frequently and posting them here. From about a month ago in my CN9-AL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5qM5u96RaY This match was from today with the BJ-1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INe06Qa5S2k&feature=youtu.be More on the way, of course!
Nice videos. Somehow it's comforting not to be the only one forgetting to open his missile trap doors... About your centurion, did you try this build or something similar? Little less edgy than yours since it only carries standard lasers (though the Artemis makes the missiles deadly), but with a lot more survivability thanks to the STD engine. I suppose you die a lot from side torso destruction; I would, I end most of the games with one of both sides destroyed. The mech is a close range brawler, you expose yourself a lot, carrying an XL is almost a death-wish (especially on a centurion).
Actually I was extremely surprised at how frequently I was the last one standing or close to it running the XL 275. It seemed that the majority of players assume Cent builds that don't have a large primary weapon to be running a standard engine so they'd just try to either leg me or focus the center torso. The overwhelming majority of deaths were to CT destruction which, depending on the mech, is why I have absolutely no reservations in running XL engines. I do frequently switch over to the standard engines on centurions for no particular reason and I have, for the most part, discontinued my medium pulse lasers from service. Turns out that I needed the extra range from the medium lasers more often than not and for general harassment the range is essential. [/quote] I was so close to selling my BJ-3 (2 ERPPC, xl235, 4JJ) and BJ-1X (6 mediums, 1 tag, xl280) but that last patch saved them. The BJ-1 is a fantastic mech all around and I've had some remarkable brawls with it. The little mech that could, haha
I wouldn't say overpowered. They are a good platform, but, plenty can preform better. I just find their playstyle to be the most fun.

ugjV0yN4OcE Can't believe it has been 5 months since I've recorded ANYTHING, hah Also, at 5:22 I did a sweet little move against the Phract (while dodging his shot) that makes me love this mech even more.
7d7Y6gagXN4 New video! Trying out Cyberlink's PowerDirector 12 and it's great but Youtube killed the image quality. I'm currently having it going through a +1 on contrast which, at least in the previews, appeared to add color depth back into the video. Btw, the No Guts No Galaxy soundtrack is pretty awesome ps: enjoy the last clip against the Victor---I know I did, lol
Two head shots back to back, nice! Never heard of PowerDirector. How it is compared to Vegas? (or other editing software)
You spoil it for others epikt I'll probably never release an epic video like this :x way too much effort to separate every nice kill from a match long of footage.
Thanks ;D I don't know about Vegas or a lot of other popular programs as I've used some various trials (can't remember which) but have only uploaded videos I've edited with Windows Movie Maker (lol) and VirtualDub. I've grown significantly less fond of vdub as I could not get it to append the files I had edited, otherwise it's actually a pretty damn awesome program. Movie Maker is remarkably easy to use but unstable as hell during editing and playback, it also can't use Intel quicksync (vdub can) which I am now taking full advantage of in PowerDirector. The whole video took all of 3:24 to encode, less than the length of the itself. I've always liked creating videos but it certainly can get tedious. My Battlefield 3 and Strike Suit Zero videos took a lot longer than expected because of the program I was using and using something, anything better than what I was likely would have cut the editing time down significantly. I'm unsure of what I plan to do for the next video, perhaps more of the combat itself but that will take more work than the kill shots to make it interesting.
