So for the past 2 days, I havent been able to access MechSpecs at home... At first I thought it was just offline for maintenance or something, but I've consistently been able to access the website at work (where I currently am writing this). I know its not a browser issue, as I tested it in Chrome, Firefox and... *shudders* Internet Explorer I also know its not device related, as it doesnt work on my desktop PC or my smartphone Anybody have a clue what to do?
Could be a routing issue with your ISP to the MechSpecs server. Did you use wi-fi on your smartphone to the same net, ie, same ISP?
Yeah... It is probably a problem with my ISP, as I can access the website on any other network (present example included) EDIT: Oh, my ISP did change 3 days ago... which was around the time the problem started arising. If this is the case, what can I do to remedy it? MechSpecs is the only website giving me any problems so far D:
Is it telling you that i cant find the DSN? Cos i have that from time to time.. Its annoying as hell, but i'm too lazy to fiddle with my settings..
Even I have this issue from time to time. I actually switched my DNS from Rogers to Google and called it a day. This isn't really an issue I can "resolve" as its individual to your provider.
Does it just go away after a while? I mean, its not exactly the end of the world that I cant access MechSpecs for a while, and I'd rather not do anything to my router/modem at the moment.
It can resolve by itself, it can also be as easy as rebooting your router but at worst you will have to talk to your ISP and find out if it has blocked domains/dns waypoints. I suggest you first try a trace to see where it stops. If it at least is able to ping waypoints outside your house then it's not your router. If you don't know how, Google "tracert" and your OS, plenty of tutorials out there. I won't be able to provide you with better intel until after work so apologies for the Google advise.
for future reference, try ctrl+F5, as this is a complete refresh of the page, flushing the previous routing of the page you're refreshing edit: this should work on any existing browsers
