An evolution of my "Espada" build, this one is replacing the AC5-double with a single AC10. A full set of machine guns and an MPLAS (up from MLAS) for slightly better infighting capability.
Instead of an XL225 this build is using a -235, uping top speed to above 100 kph (with speed tweak).
Last not least armor - up from 160 to 208, a lot better than previously, especially the legs.

    This is the build:
    CDA-3C Rapier BAP

The role hasn't changed much. It's an escort/harasser, capable of flanking heavy/assault mechs for a nice shot in the back.
The BAP is not strictly necessary, I carry it for the team - in the escort role, it makes targeting ecm lights easier. Also helps a bit with pinpoint shots at long range with that AC10.

If you prefer AMS, you can have it by removing BAP and one MG:
    CDA-3C Rapier AMS

The AMS version has even better armor - max on everything but the arms.

Finally, for those coming from an Espada build, or who can't make up their mind ... BAP? ... or rather AMS ? ... BAP. NO, AMS! ... here is the solution: Using the XL225 engine, you can actually have both.

    CDA-3C Rapier B/A-225

Addendum: I'm using the B/A-225 right now, and I'm really happy with the performance. The AC-10 delivers enough of a punch to knock out an enemy who's armor has been comprimised. I used it for a day and I killed all kinds of stuff with it. The MLAS+MGs are ok for a circle of death against big, slow mechs. The placement of the AC10 makes sniping while hiding behind a hill, with barely the top of the mech visible, very possible. As opposed to PPCs or lasers, the AC10 round doesn't leave a tracer for people to pick up.
