EDIT: changed name from "Quirk-bringer" to "The answer" because it deals exactly 42 damage and it looks like a very valid answer answer to clan long range weaponry. MechDB link Exact replica of CHP-1N2 "My little NightStar" (1xGR, 3xERLL, TC1, XL280) + alt but with better quirks: instead of -15% ballistic cooldown quirk, it is "downgraded" to a still very good -10% ballistic cooldown but you get a whopping overall +10% range quirk, which is what you need in long range maps. Your ERLLs will achieve the same cERLL optimal and maximum range, so in a 1vs1 against a classic hellbringer, you can almost equal trade with pinpoint and better damage application regardless of range. Very solid build used successfully in public group. Still needs testing in FP. ALT: swap ERLL to LL if you want better cooling (recommended for QP only). If mech is not yet skilled, you should consider another build like the faster and cooler CHP-3N "Meta starter" (1xGR, 2xLL, 2xERML, TC1, XL300) + alt ALT: strip head armor and downgrade to light ferro to fit an additional DHS
I might just try this in quick play, Carlo. I'll let you know how it goes. EDIT: Okay, gave this a quick check in the Testing Grounds. Definitely not smart for quick play, as a hot map severely limits the number of Alpha Strikes you can make. Save this for Faction Play, as Carlo originally envisioned.
