What enileph said. I have my thing about streaks and the Scumbag Steve seal is just a way to tell it with humour, instead of down voting every streak-boat (which would be kind of ridiculous).

    But since you brought it:
That's exactly what bothers me. That I am the one asked to pilot well, while the streaker has nothing to do but to press the trigger. If I'm duelling a streaker with my SPLas Jenner (the "range restricted" argument is only really valid if you have mid/long range weaponry ; not common on a light mech), I must be good do win but the streaker is not asked the same. The double standard pisses me off.
And when i read "I can't wait to start annihilating Jenners and Firestarters with my quad streak 6 adder" I just can't help to see here someone looking for the easy way. Too lazy to aim?
To be honest, the weapon is more balanced than it has been in the past (yet I'm concerned about the introduction SSRM4s and 6s). Also, lots of lamers now turned to LRM-boating so we don't meet too many of them - but I remember few months ago when it was a pain to play a light mech because every game featured at least two or three streaktaros/hawks in each team.

If you're specifically, and only, referring to the discrepancy between mech classes' speeds, and not speed holistically, then I'll give you a pass on that notion, but only that notion... cuz across the board, things move slow in this game as as whole, there's no other way to put it.

Anyway, I guess my real problem is this. With light 'mechs, it feels like you pilot a Firestarter, a Raven 3L, or you GTFO. But maybe that'll change when the Firestarter's no longer the flavor-of-the-month.

I've been piloting my lights mainly for the past couple of months and I don't see streaks as that big of a deal. To easy to just avoid or outright kill the scumbag streaker.

Big Ballistics or PPC's on the other hand are the real light killers. Even if they're not good shots all it takes with them is one lucky hit and it's 'Good night sweet Prince' for the light.

I can't remember a single time a streak killed me but I can think of a lot of times I've rounded a corner or peeked over a hill into a BFG.
