THIS will bring death to your favorite assault and heavy mechs.

Tip: Keep moving and focus fire

It's fast, feel free to downgrade the engine for something important like AMS etc.

I would perfer to do it in the Wang. If you don't have one, go to town with it. Make the kid's think you have a neat shiny Lo=Wang.

YLW is for ultra AC/5s. Standard ACs are fine in the CN9-D.

I prefer AC/20 on the YLW, yes.
But 2xUAC/5 is the other loadout possibility it has ("the other" as in "the only other", see here why).

How come XL engines feel like a sin in the centurion? D:

On the CN9-D, the sin is often not to mount an XL.
Since its torso twist angle is lower than on the CN9-A, it's a mistake not to use either double ballistic, either a big engine (>275).

Absolutely love this build! Definite 5/5.

Ground out the elites on a standard heatsink LRM cent D, but decided to give it a proper try afterwards. Tried your build and now it's easily my favourite mech, having some incredible runs!

    2 of my best:

Getting 3+ kills and 500+ damage is almost standard in this mech, and I don't even consider myself very good!

I am rather enjoying this build. I am being that horrible person and running it with SHS while grinding it... and it's still quite effective. I can't wait to get the Doubles in it!

Edit: Got the doubles, but haven't played much since.

Before you flame me, I am very new. Almost 200 matches into my MWO Career. I can't get going with this build. Maybe I am too used to the YLW and the A(C) but I have only won once with this build.

The torso seems so slow and I am getting "hung" at full twist and on objects like never before. Maybe I am not using the full speed or this mech to it potential though.

Adjust your mouse settings in game, and change your DPI to find what is optimal. you might need more movement or less. just do more testing.

    Welcome Ben Brabu,

I don't think it's a matter of mouse settings. If it works with your YLW it should work the same with any other centurions (and other mechs).

But I see a difference between the YLW and the other centurion, that may affect your feeling: the YLW has no lower arrm actuator, while the standard centurion have one. This is what allows you to mount an AC/20, but it also means you can no longer move your arms horizontaly, only verticaly. The YLW's arms are aligned on the torso.
On the other centurions, the arms can twist faster and wilder than the torso. That might lead to your impression that the torso is slower, but it's not (with the same engine and same perks unlocked it's the same). Actually, your autocanon moves faster on the CN9-D.

By the way, do you play with arm-lock on?
(you can see it in the options - it's set arm-locked by default)
That might explain why you feel you can't twist as much as on the YLW:
    - the torso twist angle on the YLW is 120°, and 0° on the arms, for a total of 120°
    - on the CN9-D is 90° on the torso, plus 35 on the arms, for a total of 125°. But if you play with arm-lock on, it's only 90° because you can't move your arms!

    edit with a video:
First part is the CN9-D with arms unlocked, see how it can twist the arms widly.
Second is the same with arm locked, see how the angle is now reduce. (and it actually felt very slow on twist!)
Third (the transition is kind of fast, sorry) is the YLW, see how the torso turns at a larger angle, but not as large as the CN9-D with arm unlocked.

Nope, no arm lock... But after posting this, I had some better games. I was just getting used to the feel of the new Cent. I have had some high 600 DMG games but usually at least 250+. Heck I now have my YLW master but I like the quicker fire of this mech better...

I LOVE this dang thing now!!! Not as much as the Wang but I love the speed of the cannons. Is there a similar more powerful build?

There is mine: two AC/2s, two MLs and an XL325. It's faster, has better range and better DPS. The only drawback is it's hotter, but it's perfectly manageable.

Honestly, I don't like the AC2 variant because to do sufficient damage I need to keep facing the target which means I'm not torso twisting and using that shield arm. However, if I wasn't PUG'ing and a I could count on my teammates to keep the enemy's attention, I think you variant could be superior. Sadly, since I PUG, I'll never know.

This is a cracking build. I have been running it on my wang for a while now. I regularly do in the region of 800 damage with it. Highest damage so far is 950. very decent for a medium I think. I run 5 tons of ammo.
