It'd be awesome if chainfire randomly fired one weapon that was on cooldown so it was like playing the lottery if you got the correct weapon firing
Cpt C, just what kind of matchmaker curse are you under? I never see weird builds like that on MLAS Jennie.
I was grinding out the Cadet period for my Sister-In-Law. I want her to have the best possible first impression of the game so, I ground out the first 25 matches to get her 15m C-Bills to buy and setup a decent mech that she can customize. This week, I'll set her up in some of my mechs and let her run the training grounds and see what she feels comfortable in. That's why I was in the "Crazies" ELO bracket. It started out as amusing, getting 800+ damage with 5-7 kills in a Trail mech. However, after six or seven games, it was REALLLLY a chore. Not to be a jerk, but, playing with such inexperienced players in terrible builds who either don't listen to Comms calls or actually argue back when another player tries to coordinate the team and set up defenses gets frustrating fast. However, I did discover that the Trial Cataphract is actually a very nice build. Even without any skills unlocked and the weapons setup in hardpoints completely opposite to what I would normally do, she's a nasty beast! If only the main weapons were in the arms and the JJ wasn't in a leg!
Is it worse than Chat's Jenner? I honestly don't know, I just hope that in fact the pilot was messing with the mechlab and dropped in the wrong mech.
Oh jeez! Those kinds of things HAVE to be a mistake. There is no way even the newest pilots would drop with loadouts like that. Bummer for the rest of the team. I have had a few times where I have dropped in the wrong mech, but, never anything quite so neutered.
I saw a Battlemaster 1S with 4 MLAS and 4 SSRM's (nothing else) the other day. An assault with a medium loadout. He didn't do so bad but not exceptional either, slightly crazy IMHO.
I didn't grab any screenshots, because I was just running through the Cadet Period for my sister, however, in the new player's ELO bracket, there were some CRAAAAAAAZY builds. That Jenner above was just one example that blew my mind. Other builds I witnessed: AS7-RS with 4x PPC. He MUST have been running STD heat sinks, because, he spent about half the round shut down beside me. Lots of Locust running slower than the Trial Spider. (SUICIDE RUNS!!!) CN9-AL with two PPCs, nothing else. (That one was funny - pretty sure he was disarmed by a Jager within 10 seconds then just hid the rest of the match) AND MY FAVORITE! JM6-A with 2x LRM10s, 2x MG and 2x SLas. He was the ultimate in range discrepancy! He did, however, have about 1000 missiles left when I died and most of the enemy team was already down, so, at least he had the ammo!
I am probably missing the point of this thread, but I think I would prefer cutting the Fat Boy raven down to an XL 210 to fit ECM. Thanks How to Stop Blushing
An evolution of the classic Shadow Hawk load-out, inspired by some of the builds that I've seen in Mechwarrior Tactics gameplay clips on YouTube. Too many weapon groups for MWO, but still an interesting blend of speed, fire-power and manoeuvrability. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=153&l=2a0c667f3298647e0e874ad04ece44aefaad732b
