With the buff to pulses, I decided I'd try to do something with my 3D, and this ended up happening. Currently, I'm actually currently running it with an XL 340, but its undertoned and has far fewer heatsinks, but it works pretty well. It runs fairly simple, though, its probably better to run it like its a big medium, rather than a heavy. You could probably take out a few heatsinks for more jumpjets if you really wanted.
I actually used a very similar build to finish mastering my CTF-1X variant, though obviously dropping the JJ for an extra DHS. I was actually quite surprised with how well it ran, considering that it has relatively low firepower for a Phract. With its good heat efficiency, and the fast STD engine, you can make this thing work fairly well. That said, there are alot of better builds one could run in the 3D, which is why I can really only give it 4 stars. But if you really aren't a ballistic person, I'd definitely suggest trying out this build, 'cause it really does run smoothly.
I tried ages to get a decent build with a 340xl in a ctf3d (other than the age old multipass) I think ive stumbled onto something here, because, being an average player like me, bells start to ring when i score 500s and not even trying hard. I think the screenshake from the mgs just give u those extra shots or make them miss u im not sure ,but it feels rather easy anyway way check it out: CTF3D "CheckMyPulse" (2LPlas 2MPLas 2MG 4xJJ 340XL ams) I like this setup but i feel there is a lot of room for variations so check it and tell us what u think
