    Was browsing, and just noticed this:

    Wait a minute, I wouldn't technically call this MY fault! I mean, sure I invented the build, but that doesn't mean I'm responsible for what people do with it . . . does it? :unsure:

    I really don't know what to say now . . . I feel like SUCH a bad person! :p :rofl:

    Wait a minute, what am I saying? NO REGRETS!!! :rolleyes: ;) :D

    And believe me, I WILL run this bad boy someday, as soon as the Direwolf comes out for C-Bills (in what, like, 4 more short weeks?). Then I can finally enjoy the horrendously awesome, terrifyingly effective WMD that I've gone and created! :phear: :cool:

    You could have ran it last night on the PTS. All clan mechs were available for MC, which they gave you like 50,000 MC or something ridiculous.

    Yeah, PTS woulda been loads of fun, but sadly, I was busy preparing for the long weekend (took a trip out of province) and didn't even find time to play on Thursday. Besides which, I have never once managed to patch the PTS; I tried a couple times, but it seems to bug out and have to reset half-way. I've sorta given up on it I guess . . .

    So I wait (im)patiently for my Baby Direwolf . . . *SIGH* :p

    It may have been nerfed, but I took it out and dusted it off tonight, this mech STILL tears it up...provided you're careful. This isn't meant to be up front and personal, so hang back and snipe a bit. It easily gets kills, so just blast anything that looks unfriendly. A mouse that can shift to low DPI helps!

    These were rusty, low damage rounds, but lots of kills either way:

    I love Dire Wolves. 2 ERPPCs,2 SPLs and AMS would be a great additions.

    Trust me, you don't want more weapons on the Ghost Walker build. Removing heat sinks for more firepower or AMS that you won't be able to efficiently use in this build is a waste of space. Can try it if you like...but you'll see the massive disadvantage of doing it quickly. This thing is designed as a long range hitscan platform, removing that changes it to an entirely different build/thread.

    How about exchanging 4 CERLLs for 2 CERPPCs and 2 CSPLs??

    Yeah, you can really get the lasers on a target in more situations now. The Jump Jets don't help much for this build though.

    Man, I'm not even slightly worried about the JJs, the higher mounting on FIVE lasers should be a massive play change. I'm going to have to try that out. I can easily see how losing arm actuation would be well worth the tall shoulder/head firing. How are you finding the mix? I'm waiting for the gift-store exclusive to come out for C-Bills, so don't have access to the S-pods yet.

    Was actually going to make this build again, had a craving. I've only played the new build a few drops and it was good. Missed the actuators a few noticeable times, but also loved the high mounts other times. It really is a trade. Will playtest more and post it up.

    Have you run this lately? I plan on trying it out again whenever we go clan for CW drops.

    It would be a rough build for CW...on one hand, you have GREAT long-range poking potential, but you have a hell of an exposure time and heat build too. I still bring this bad boy out in normal queue from time to time, but even in more heat neutral maps like Mining Collective, you're looking about 60% heat build with a macro to avoid ghost heat. Basically means that this mech can't afford to get close and engage at any cost, since having to fire the macro twice will overheat you unless you have a cool shot. So you get one save. On Grim Portico or Sulfur, that means you're probably looking at a long delay between each volley, and that will hurt. Would work nicely on Boreal and the canyon map though...so it's all luck of the draw.
