maybe, but then no AMS... xD that's an issue too...
Oh, and no you can't, unless you use the DWF-S center torso (or another mech)

If you feel like you absolutely must have an AMS on your assault mech then you're not using cover and armor rolling like you should and you're probably going to die horribly to LRMs anyways...

It's not that i NEED one, it's just that it's always usefull on an assault. Even more on an assault that scares people as much as a direwolf (and is that slow). I never saw a full, brand new, light lance flee seing a crab. They consider it to be an easy prey (even if they are wrong sometimes, it really depends on the pilot). And sure, he'd take some LRMs, but not more than most assaults or heavies. On the other hand if you put a direwolf instead lights will flee as soon as they see it (how many times did i see myself alone facing a direwolf because the rest of the lance freaked out? ... sigh) and it will rain LRMs (if there's any in the opposite team, well, they're my favourite targets, cause no one wants to face it and that it has to be killed somehow).

*clenches teeth seeing it's still less than 40% cooling efficiency*

Would that be any better than the original build?

*go check ghost heat factors...*
(phew, there are none due to grouping)

should do 59% at long range (2 cERLL and 1 cUAC2) and 79% at short range (all but the cERLLs) so that should work...

maybe i'll consider adding one of the two ERLL in the short range group if i figure out i can handle the heat, would be 52% cooling efficiency at short range for a DPS of 14.20

or follow solahma's lead wich is 50% at long, and 69% at short and go alpha strike every once in a while

So i played a lot with the build that's offered as a trial mech lately, the direwolf is so slow that when i arrive in the fight it's almost already over (win or loss and i don't change much to that even if i'm in pristine condition)

    - so all in all 1 ton of UAC2 ammos might be enought i don't need much more.
    - i think i still planned way too much ammos for every single weapon, couldn't checked how much for others than UAC2though
    - due to the direwolf thoughtness, and that you will be on your own AMS might be useless, i agree.
    - overheating in that thing proved relatively harmless (that's different on my other mechs even victors, i shouldn't have based my judgement on that).

I only did 200 - 300 damages and got two kills each times, not really as cool as thought it could be, given that it's scores i easilly do with lights. The reason is different though, i feel like a marine tortoise, a freaking big one, but not even a land tortoise, direwolves crawl, they don't even walk.

    - To it's credit, i think the direwolf is sturdier than the atlas (tried some builds on the DDC variant wich proved useless, my builds, not the atlas) or the crab (wich i didn't tested much) if you don't play it in dumb ways. It surprises me i have to admit, because clan lights aren't better at taking beatings than innersphere lights even though they really lack engine power)
    - And most people, no matter their mech, do flee when they're under UAC2's fire even when i used only one (wich is really fun for some reason, it's true that that having 4 of them mounted i could do a bit more damages, but that'd only be 8 damages per salvo, and those things build heat as much as lasers, i don't see the point of having 4)

So here's the last design i came up with if i stick with my original idea, due to my recent experiences.

I shouldn't go alpha strike with this one though... wich bothers me a bit

But i might try LB2X and LB5X builds as well because of the limited use of the AMS.
Then, i may not stick with the SSRMs either if i find out LBX are efficient enought against lights, but i'd stick with this omipod because LRMs would allow me to be of some use in the earlier stages of the game.
