I'm interpreting pinpoint as all 4 weapons hitting the same spot at the same time. I don't believe this mech can do that.

What it is meant to be is that it is all impact damage in one shot coming from each barrel. Wether or not people are able to time the shots so that they all hit the same spot is entirely up to pilot skill. It means there is not DOT weapon used like the clan U/ACs or any beams weapons, not spread weapons like LBX and missiles.

There is a way to make them all impact at once. I alternate between firing the PPC's then charging and firing the Gauss and using a macro to release the PPC's with the Gauss. There's several working macros around. The one I designed is the best one, of course. ;)

So whether you're willing to use a macro or not; yes, there's plenty of players doing pin-point damage with this 'Mech.

It's a cheap, bullshit build that I'm tired of running into, but, it is GODDAMN effective! 5-star with hate. ;)

I tried this with an A-right arm and the two PPCs in the LA. This gives you some more quick tracking should you need to pop some damage off at a faster target. Overall, I like my 2xGauss phract better. The extra maneuverability is important when you have to deal with the charge up mechanism.

I've been meaning to give this a try in my last Dire Wolf. It would basically be the exact opposite as ProtoformX's build, but with one less cDHS in the arm to make room for the lower actuator. At that point you might consider dropping an additional cDHS for a Mk.II Targeting Computer.

I love it, but have to be nitpicky... it's better to use the left side for weapons, as prime's right torso got some nice turn rate quirks and so on. I also added 2 ER-MLas to the right arm, but don't know wether they are needed.

Switching right arm to a B and mounting it all on 1 side also gives you a better cooldown with the erppc's as the prime arm increses their cooldown (+7.5% per P arm)
additionally you could switch right torso with the A omnipod to get access to an AMS (1 less DHS)
to keep 2x gauss you of course need the left torso as a B

    pro:
    weapons closer to eachother
    right arm as a shieldarm
    better erppc cooldown

    con:
if left arm/torso shot off mostly or completely disarmed
    DHS all on 1 side

    endresult:

It´s the classic pinpoint dmg build. I got this config on my prime too,but actual i´m a bit bored of it.

I agree, accept I don't really like the Direwolf at all. I'm WAY more in love with the Masakari. So if I have to run it, for before I mastered it for doubles, or because I need it for a drop deck, then this is how she runs. I've even sold all the other core Direwolf chassis as I just don't like the mech enough to need multiple builds laying around. I kept one of each pod though of course.

If he's running the Prime I'd imagine it is the arm mounted one. I still like the arm mounted one for the up and down movement on the entire weapon groups and the fact I have to lose both sides to lose my weapons, but I can totally understand the one side mentality.

Arm mounted for sure. I have had it where they try to blast my arms off first, its not too good if everything is on the same side.

i play it 1sided, and it works better for me

and it is like 1 out of 20 where i lost my weapon side before the ct and that was so far completely my own fault of playing too aggressive

not to forget, i run much better with all on 1 side as i have same amount of ammo/DHS and have an AMS on top of tha standard build
i didnt buy radar deprivation for this build yet and it is already very nice

(prime arms increase ppc cooldown by 7.5% each, so i only have 1 of them now which increases the dpm for me)

I do not do 1-sided builds as I love to fire my ERPPC faster if needed.
