Yeah, lag is partly the reason we lost Bob in Eve. First Titan built, first one lost. Computers have gotten better and so have the overlays, but 200 ships will still lag Eve. But Overwolf works decently enough in MWO.
Well Cyvock was first titan lost (thanks aggression mechanics and enemies that don't understand them !). Can't remember if Shrike's Avatar was second or third. First combat loss either way. Were you old school BoB? Still a few of us around and later we reformed as It. That imploded in a civil war when Molle was moving to the US so wasn't there to control the children and we ended up spread all over Eve entities as it was so bitter. I'm still playing after all these years though just in Pandemic Legion nowadays. Molle is still active. Amusingly I still hold the second most expensive titan loss in Eve history I think and that was down to an emergency eWarp in O2O where I'd logged on 90 minutes before (thanks CCP for your nodes that made fleet fights essentialy a black screen for several hours). For a long time that was first but the battle of B-R pushed me to second as a corp mates titan was even more insanely expensive due to its shield tank. Molle always was sensible enough to not pimp his rides. Not convinced Time Dialation is any better as its so gameable.
Meant to say - as long as you remember to turn off brackets you should be ok now its just with TiDi at 10% you have plenty of time to go make tea etc. Nothing like firing a doomsday and then having to wait 100 minutes to fire again (..... and people complain about clan SSRM6 cooldown timers!).
Aaah, EVE. I flew with QotSA, in Rote Kapelle. If you have a set of bookmarks for Syndicate and Outer Ring that covers every gate, station, planet on point, above, below, north, south, and in line to every other gate in the system at 100k, 200k, and 300k ranges... I made that set. Took over a month of tedium. But it gave us a great set of tacticals to play with. And when you're in a small-gang corp, well, that can make all the difference.
Nice I know a few Rote Kapelle peeps - used to have a clandestine ships sideline with them. Of course most of those ended up in PL or NC. anyway but the rest I see when we do a run into Providence.

I generally made my own (except for the old school gate to gate marks). I never liked the thought that I might warp my cov ops to an overwatch that had someone else sitting on it. To further derail the thread and show my age... I was there the first time we crashed a node with a battle. Some stupid number like 70 people.
Yeah, I remember the first time we brought down a sector with a battle. I think there were 100 ships total. It was fine until people starting charging up their lazors... XD We had always made fun of EVE being spreadsheet online... but once those big battles started happening, EVE became powerpoint presentation online. XD
Yeah. Though, as bad as it can get, there aren't many other games with combat on that scale. 100 vs 100 fights aren't even especially big for the current server architecture. EVE Online Scale: It's what Community Warfare SHOULD be like.
Except without all the grinding lag from the game trying to load everything all at once What I would give for Planetside 2 scale mech battles...
Well tbh I have to point out that our current daily battles with Brave Newbies usually have 5-600 participants multiple times a night and thats fine.... of course we only have 100 of those but that's another matter. TiDi isn't bad at those levels.
So who's who in EvE? I've got the same name and most of my unit plays (or played too). I'm a founding member of ExE, went from there to BoB, Aggro., then on to PL, then.... I forget what Sort Dragon's alliance was next... I went kind of inactive.
Yeah, I don't play any more. Most of my friends who played have moved on. It was a blast while it lasted though.
... Now thats interesting and fuck me its a small world.... Bjoern/Sir Prime in Pandemic Legion (Habit). Also a lot of time in Black Nova Corp with you (BoB and It. incarnations) then Sort Dragon's post It. corp Resilience. Of course there were also something like 3 stints in Providence (mainly CVA) and two in the North (Pure. and Majesta Empire) as well. Have lost titans all over the map in major conflicts now.
PyckenZot in EVE, currently corpless in the North as I finally got kicked out after a year of non-activity. I log on from time to time to spin a ship or two. Haven't been real active in years now, but I just cannot part from my accounts. All those glorious memories stop me from cancelling my payments to CCP.
haha! You're not kidding! Koskenkorva Belkelay buddy! I was seriously not expecting to bump into you again. As for losing titans all over... with the way that they drop like flies nowadays... meh. It's like losing a battleship in 07. Everything is so inflated that is just doesn't matter anymore. Oh... and I'm pretty sure that Molle was both the 2nd and 3rd titan loss
Heres an irony Sort Dragon lost his Ragnarok last night to a bait by some low sec Russians.... Molle lost his 6th on Shrike in the same battle I lost a pair (B-R) but luckily we've not lost any since. Well tbh there really haven't been any large battles since and I suspect its unlikely there will be any more with the current jump/fatigue mechanics.
