I really like it. They captured the smooth and sleek look of the cockpit area very well. The size is very nice and everything is in good proportion. Very happy with the initial pictures.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.... I'm biased as I NEVER use Flamers. Not for distraction, not for offensive heat splashing, not for anything. Tits on a bull.
I like the design. And of course the flamer! Not sure if we can make something useful of it though. Wait and see.
Hey, more mechs. Sure looks nice, would like to have it. Queue standard questions re missing features beyond arena play.
I thought the Clan Tech ERPPCs had different stats. As in, the range would be slightly higher, weight lower, ect. Perhaps the heat would be back to a manageable 12-13... Who knows. All I know is that there is no way in hell that, at this point, I'm giving them any money for uncustomizable mechs priced to the sky. "Free-to-play" Just not if you want full content. I haven't noticed any statements about the public, NON-RL-Cash release of any clan mechs. I rarely buy anything with MC anymore. Last splurge was for an Ember, because, hell, you could just tell that little Hero was going to kick ass. However, I have no interest in spending FIFTY DAMN DOLLARS to buy a single chassis (three variants) of a mech that I once loved in BT lineage.
If I understood correctly, clan mechs will be released for c-bill purchase in the same fashion Phoenix were, starting in June and on a four month schedule (that makes 2 mech per month)(so I suppose no IS mech for this period). I can't point the exact source, but I heard this on a recent NGNG podcast. Yet I agree with you, no MC/$ purchase for me.
Someone in regiment seemed to be having an orgasm on comms yesterday about the looks of the adder. I being non romantic about most mechs was just staring at the 3 energy hard points (one with a fixed flamer) and 97? KPH........ but??!?!??!?!?
the amount of hardpoints changes according to which variant parts you add as far as I know. so they might release a variant with arms that have 2 energy hardpoints > you can add one of those on the mech. Not sure if you were able to swap weapons out of those hardpoints either, but I expect that you'd only be able to put in similar sized weapons.
For those who wants to test this mini-beast : http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=139&l=73b4e1ed652e40833dc06050863fbbe4261a5fbc I just don't know how the manage to get an XL210, 3 more DHS, 2 E-PPC ans 1Flamer with Ferro fibrous and Endo-sttel, one slot is missing for me.
My belief is still that clan-tech ERPPCs will be the same as PGI's statements about Clan vs IS ERLL/LRMs, ect. They will weigh less, take one slot less, different ranges and possibly heat scaling... We'll have to see.
The problem with the adder in MWO is you can't volley fire with it. SubjectSeven: Clan double heatsinks take only 2 slots.
