Pff I always play on laptop, that's tenacity (I really miss a good desktop PC and being able to play at decent FPS and with a normal monitor).
Well i woke up at 5 in the morning so I had a few hours before normal people wake up so it was actually done on my desktop. Total for 50 points: 101 battles total, 67 wins, 34 loss. Earlier I didn't really see the 40-60 fps as a issue but after I changed graphics-card going to constant 60+ mostly around 80fps it really makes a difference.
I know it well, since I used to play on my PC and then I had to move for a job that's gonna last at least until summer. And playing on a 15" screen doesn't help either, at least not past 300/400m range. It's a bit frustrating because sometimes the hitreg is off or I can't pilot properly, and I'm sure it's not the connection, got 100Mbit/s here, much better then at home where i had 7 and never a problem (and I also used all the connection tweaks for gaming) and when the map allows for decent FPS hitreg is perfect for me, but as soon as it gets crowded it gets much worse. The odd thing is how much CW got better for me from start (like 20 FPS) to now (can get to 50-60 sometimes) and how conversely framerate dropped in normal games.
I feel like i played 100 games just for 25.... Even with 2 kills, my team couldn't secure a win. Or conversely, dealing 400+ damage and not getting a single kill and the team wins... so super annoying. We were up 10 to 7, versus a hunchback and a 3L super chicken. They took us apart. I was in an A1, so LRMS only. The super chicken took us apart, and every mech we had was heavier than either one of their two. Oh well, at least it was all on premium time so it generated some good Cbills.
Yeah, drew in 20+ mil aswell so that aspect is nice of the challenge. Not thinking of the CBills makes for a pleasant bonus in the end.
Needed an additional set of ERLLas modules for the new 3L and also bought a Target Info Gathering out of (searching!) frustration, so there went 10 million right away...
After trying a variety of mechs, I switched over to a support Kit Fox with ECM, 3xAMS, 3xMPL, 2xMG. I ended up with 62% of matches that qualified. That beat out some of my typical favorites in terms of point grinding efficiency. I am curious to see what Mechs were working better for others.
It depended on the day. The first day I did really well with my Hellbringer and Raven, second day I did great with Firestarter, and I did well with my FS9 on the third day too...but suddenly it hit a wall and I couldn't win with it, no matter how many kills I got. I switched to my Stalker 4N after that, and SAILED through the last 18 points or so with almost no problem (see screencap from before). I think it was just people shifting tactics as the night went on...as people started to pile into certain mechs, others slowly started to counter the idea.
