Can it handle cER PPC heat as I never use them except on the Nova for poptarting? Yeah I now have a 170XL that I bought... then removed and changed to a STD 180 later on. Luckily CW is a great generator of c-bills so still about 120m or so now in readiness for todays mechs.
I've always run MGs on mine and have never noticed this. But then I always run on low settings... Also, the MGs on this new one are on the arms I believe. The PBs are on the CT. Still, it looks like garbage even for a Locust. If my numbers are right the rate of fire increase brings the MGs back up to 1 dps. And two mpl's, even long range ones, are still only two mpl's. I have a secret hope that maybe, just maybe, PGI will realize that Locusts are scout mechs and quirk them to that role. I do well with them, but that's in solo. I'd love to see increased sensor range, target duration, decreased sensor signature, anything really that lets a Locust detect an enemy first without being detected by the enemy. But I doubt I'm going to see it...
The only reason to pick up the LCT-3V is for that tasty looking 50% Energy Range bonus. Full damage out to 1000+ m with an ERLLas, or 1200+ m with an ERPPC is pretty damned impressive (though actually landing those ERPPC shots would be a pain in the ass).
Supposedly, PGI is working on increasing the draw distance for IS ERLLs too, which means that soon, they will be able to shoot beyond 1500m and still hit...which means you can at least scratch some paint with them
Well, on second look, those are quite the armor and structure quirks for the 3V. Too bad it doesn't have 4 mg hardpoints or 3 energy hardpoints. Or, more realistically, insane mpl quirks. A 50% energy range boost is more a curiosity on a mech that can only boat one ll or erll.
Oh that's embarassing I never knew they didn't work at that range. Sure I've taken damage in alpine though at that range just not much.
At distances greater than 1012.5 m, the LCT-3V with one ERLLas will actually be outgunning a RVN-3L with 2x ERLLas. At 1200 m, the locust is still outputting 7.33 dmg compared to the RVN-3L doing 4 dmg. Above 1350 m, the Raven isn't doing anything while the Locust is still doing 6 damage, which isn't huge, but still rather respectable, and can add up considering you will never overheat this thing.
