I wasn't particularly happy with how my Gauss Rifle was performing since the patch, so I wondered how the Firebrand would do if I went all-in on energy weapons. After running a bit with an XL330 engine, I switched it to the STD260 and leapt up in survivability. This is what I eventually ended up with. PPC's for longer range, switching to the MPL backup once things close in. There's a small range-band in between where you can go crazy if you like to shutdown a lot, but with 18 heat sinks at least you'll start up again pretty quickly.
