About the flamers the heat generation is kind of exponential, it's the same as staggered AC/2s, you can think it's stupid (I do) but it's not broken, it's working as designed.
If that is the case then probably a Engine rating 295 max like Raven3L? So basically the correct setup would be (6x MLas, 3x JJ, XL280) with 14 total DHS (assume full armor + ES)? Well, I guess you can trade some engine rating and DHS for 2x MG and a ton of ammo. If not there would be builds spotting SPLas, On top of that would be spider-isque setup what would e a ERPPC hopping platform. Oh, and technically you can use it to mount a single AC2/AC5 also. Somone would make a Gausee/AC20 (AC20 would only work if a variant have arm-mounted ballistics) variant, as a semi-effective troll build. I assume you are not a sad and idiotic individual who is actually using 4x flamers, cause under current rules that would be useless to have mroe than one.
Well, each one is an energy hardpoint.... 35ton mech with 6 Energy hardpoints, 2 Ballistic hardpoints and jump capable... and 97.2 km/h top speed in lore. sounds not too shabby.
Indeed imagine running 4 med lasers 2 machine guns and a jump jet at around 130-140 kph in game. now run 4 of them in a pack, and fear for your leg armor... :whacko: Its a Jenner with MG's and 5 ton more room. Id say that would sound real nice to me. Id even consider buying that.
Looking over the new video, I think I saw a preview of the next 'Mech hidden in the shadows: FYI: time stamp is 11 seconds.
I think it would be funny if it's the thorn just because of the it's back story. "It was with a great deal of hype that unfortunately the 'Mech could never truly live up to." Straight from http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Thorn_%28BattleMech%29 Like I said just would me me laugh my head off because of it the info on the mech.
You know, if you want funny, you could go with the Fire Moth. Hooray for upside down arms! (why yes, I did just go on a Wiki Walk in Sarna.)
I like it. And it was my first guess considering all the clues given. Source: Sarna.net My thought about it being 'controversial' is it's very specialized role, which usually doesn't fit very well in a game like MWO. Now it's official: http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/149154-ember-firestarter-fs9-e-light-hero-mech/
Um... Yay? So, Flamers are going to get a boost? Ignitable environments that will damage mechs and cause smoke screens? What is the point of the Firestarter? In BT, it was a flamer mech. In MWO, I'm sure the hardpoints will be given to lasers 99% of the time... I guess a pair of Ballistics on a 35T jump-capable mech is interesting... Don't really see any controversy other than another generic mech... Kind of the love-child of a Spider and Jenner... Meh. I'm not too terrible excited. We'll see how it pushed out. A Jumping TDK?
hmm... so a different shaped jenner, I guess, depending on the ballistic/missile hardpoints since obv no one is going to use 4 flamers for more than a few games to troll.
If Flamers could actually set things in flames just like in Farcry 2. That would be awesome. But atm it's a humanoid Jenner or smaller Bro of the Blackjack.
