I wanted to take advantage of these great quirks on the GAR-PRIME Arms:
    • ADDITIONAL STRUCTURE (LA): 13.00
    • ADDITIONAL ARMOR (LA): 13.00
    • BALLISTIC COOLDOWN: 10.00 %
Equipping both of these arms was a challenge with the Gargoyles payload of (roughly) 21 tons, but the idea of getting + 20% Ballistic Cooldown was too tempting. At first i tried the default setup with twin LBX-5s and SRM6s. But there just wasnt enough ammo and even thought rate of fire was great i was still having a tough time. Then i had an epiphany swap the LBX-5s for Ultra-AC5s and lose the SRM6s, and replace them with 2* C-ERML mounted in the center torso. As a bonus the lasers act as back up weapons if your arms are blown off or you run out of ammo. Now i had enough weight for more ammo, and at the time was hoping to use the double tap for greater DPS.

However i found that by using the Ultra AC-5s in chain fire mode, you get a pretty continuos stream of bullets that explode in the enemy face so I then maxed this out:
    • Ballistic Cooldown +20% from Gargoyle arms
    • Ultra AC-5 Cooldown Module 12%
    • Fast Fire Skill 5%
The resulting cooldown is 1.66 * (1-0.35) = 1.05s, which with a Chain fire of 0.5s allows you to continuously fire both weapons! Other bigger mechs have achieved the same result with 3 weapons, but we can do it in 2 (like having a free 7 ton Ultra-AC!). Twin Ultra-AC 5s result in a whopping DPS of 9.56 (DPS of a stock AC-20 is 5 for reference).

    Quirk Update - April 7th 2015:
If you happen to own the C- Variant it has some great quirks for UACs and the 10% Ballistic cooldown too. The Jam Chance is particularly nice reducing it from 15% to 10%.

    Gargoyle-C Left Arm:
    ADDITIONAL STRUCTURE (LA): 13.00
    ADDITIONAL ARMOR (LA): 13.00
    BALLISTIC COOLDOWN: 10.00 %
    UAC VELOCITY: 10.00 %
    UAC JAMCHANCE: -30.00 %

    Suppression Game play:
Check out this gameplay video to see it in action:

You can see the Zeus is so confused by the suppression he has no idea i have run round behind him then repositioned myself to finish him off! After running out of ammo a couple of times, i have swapped the TC1 for another ton of ammo.

So we now have an 80 ton assault mech that moves like a heavy at 90kph, and can suppress the enemy with a constant stream of exploding bullets in your face. This is very disturbing to encounter, and most enemies will retreat when experiencing this.

You are best working with a few other fast moving mechs, look for stragglers or work from the edges of the pack. Start by using your zoom to aim your at the enemy cockpit and begin your approach. When suppressing your enemy try to move diagonally across them, its hard for them to track you when your moving with so many explosions going off. If you move directly towards them, they can just fire at where you were last and you will take damage, denying the point of the suppression. Most mechs will begin to retreat believing you can only sustain your fire until you over heat - bad news for them you can sustain this indefinitely! Follow them round whatever cover they to try to find. Only retreat if you see an enemy mob, in this case change target and suppress the on coming mechs as you retreat.

Even one on one, you can psych out your opponent as you bear down on them - keep the pressure on as you can sustain your fire power without overheating until they are scrap metal!

And it looks pretty sweet too!

I thought you posted a build with the 4 C-ERMLS and the LBX-20 just theoretical was it?

TS, your build sheet is weird. The thread title, the text and the video all show Clan UAC5's but your build sheet is regular Clan AC5's. I went with Clan UAC5's myself but you should clear the confusion.

I was pretty skeptical about this one because it's not a lot of damage alpha wise and it's not a lot of ammo for sustained fire..though I can't complain about the first game I played in it! This was the solo queue however, I don't think this will do aswell in the group queue.

The Gargoyles overall are difficult to find good builds for me, will run this for three games and see how it performs. Stay tuned.

2nd game, still dealing good damage but ran out again.

3rd game, bit of a stomp so didn't have time to do enough damage. Used a air strike to slow down the enemy charge so in this screenshot, there's that addition. I had nearly 200 rounds left.

I will probably go with this version:

Conclusion: It's a good build, it has ammo issues and cannot really halt a charge like a heavier assault. It plays well in the skirmisher role and will probably scare the crap out of the mediums it runs down. There are other mechs with more potential but if you want a sturdy skirmisher assault, this ain't bad.

    Hey Lan,
Thanks for your feedback really appreciate it. You got some pretty decent scores with it too! Thanks for pointing out the smurfy error i have changed it to UACs now, and also put in the C-Variant Arm Quirks. Ammo is an issue for this build, as the Gargoyle is so tight for space, but its still allot of fun and you have some lasers for the last minutes of the game!
