Mjolnir... hammer of Thor... for MC...
    Never mind... :p

This is a highly underrated mech that you don’t see dropping very often. The “special” thing about the hero is the arm ballistic that is traditionally used for GR. The low arm mount, and 5 low laser mounts (plus 2 that are high on the shoulders) make this mech and Grasshoppers in general not so attractive as long-range laser vomits.

However! It has lots of armor quirks and JJs, and this says “brawler” to me.
LB10X is cold, reliable and deadly vs opened components. 6 MLs to get the most damage out of many hard points, at minimal weight. The 7th laser is ERSL to avoid ghost heat from too many MLs. This leaves enough weight to fit a LFE325 engine and propel the mech at 75 kph before skills (easy 80 kph skilled).

3JJ will alow you to get over most obstacles and get some free shots against a surprised enemy. Poptarting is possible, but MLs are not ideal and you’ll have to jump high over the cover - this is viable once against a not prepared enemy - then move to a new position. The real use of JJs in a brawl is to spread damage by throwing off enemies aim and making them spread some damage to your very armored legs (quirks).

This is a cold build and you can dump one DHS for something else. ERML version is also viable, but you gain range and lose DPS (consider switching to AC10 to better fit the lasers range) - I went with the shorter range brawler version and love it.

Interesting. I've always looked at Mjolnir and thought "If only..." because I like the idea of ballistics on a grasshopper. If I ever buy one, I will certainly try this.

I am glad you like it @Dagonus . It is not a one dimensional mech so it takes some effort to learn it. Instead it relies on a combination of qualities that is (the combination, not each quality) rather unique. The JJs for example are a crucial feature that you have to take advantage of.

One thing that I never realized before piloting Grasshoppers is just how tall this mech is - it is like a basketball player, slim but as tall as 100 ton assults. In fact, it towers above most mechs so much, that it only takes a small jump to fire over them even with your lower torso mounts. The height and long strides lower the feeling of speed - from the cockpit of lower mechs that run at 60 kph the speed seems a lot higher than 80 from the Grasshopper’s.

Just something to be aware of.
