While very similar, I've found I don't need the Large laser for 2 reasons
-SMR6's W/O Artemis is nearly useless against lights; better for hitting heavier mechs
-The Large Laser just announces my position to poptarts

I've lowered the ammo count, assuming I will be fairly easy to be destroyed before I get all of my ammo out of my mech. If I run out, I still have 2ML to fight with, or even 1ML if my arm is lost.

The only reason I want to run this build; because it's my only medium mech with 4xSRM6's.

In prevision of HSR fix (can't wait! :) ) I built a similar mech.

AMS, more ammo, less JJ, less DHS. Might tweak it after tested, but it looks promising.

7 Jump Jets makes a world of a difference when compared to just 1-3. This thing kills fast when you pilot it right. This mech is built for very superior short ranged brawling. This build is not for the fainthearted as you will take excessive damage from time to time. If you run it right, you can take on 3 mechs at a time.

    Tips:

-Don't fight heavier mechs head on

-NEVER stand still and brawl. Keep moving

-Use your jump jets to mitigate damage (You have more armour in the legs than in the CT)

-Don't traverse the map like you normally would with a non-jump jet mech. 7 JJ's give you the capability to scale the highest of buildings and attack them from behind.

    Advanced Tactics
-When faced inevitably with single combat against a heavier opponent, try to charge straight at him. When you get close enough, jump right over him and while in the air turn your body to face his back when you land, punch that 60 point alpha point blank into his back. Watch the video below for an example. Go straight to 3:08

-When retreating, run full speed at angle away from the target mech, then use your jump jets to propel you in that direction with full speed while you face your front torso towards your enemy to reduce the time having your weak back exposed.

Video example of the Griffin 3M "Flying Terror"

I've tried this build and it's really good. I used the XL295 instead, but otherwise pretty good, and I'm not a "brawler" anyway. Another idea for real brawler types is two Med Pulse Lasers and 4 Srm4's with lots of double heat sinks and the cool down modules for both weapons.

I almost forgot - LOVE the Griff 3M. I wish we had a Griff with ballistic slots, but I guess I'll have to be happy with a PPC.

I think it can get a good upgrade if u downgrade those SRM6, that spread a lot, to SRM4, take out a couple JJ, and use the weight to upgrade 1 MLas to ERLLas, so u have also a long range backup:

This is what I'm playing around with for Scouting, after just getting the Griffin. That may be more jump jets than I need, and I could probably drop some for DHS, MPLs, or to bring the engine speed up.
