I guess I've kept this to myself for long enough, time to share!. I love the long range 20 point PPC punch, and the 20 point streak barrage pounds lights into the dirt (and some heavies too)! Chain fire the streaks to keep your targets rocking and rolling! You got BAP and PPC to light up any ECM mechs, and a jump jet for added maneuverability. Enjoy!

Isn't it a bit short on ammo ?
(though you can't do much without dumping a DHS)

But you're definitely not short on streak launchers, so here is your medal! ;)

Wow! That's a real nice medal! Thanks! :p

I guess I don't run out of ammo because I primarily rely on the PPCs, the streaks are just a bonus for me to chase off lights and make heavier opponents think twice before trying to finish closing that last 90m. If I can get them to change their minds and turn around - they are normally dead. It happens quite a bit.

But if you're the kind of pilot who likes to get up close and use streaks a lot, then I agree that this is not the build for you. Up close, the PPCs are worthless anyways. If I had to, I would drop 1 PPC, change the other to an ERPPC, and re-distribute HS, ammo, etc., as required. But that would be a different mech and would fill a different role.

If you like this build but want more ammo, just drop 1 or 2 HS. If you drop 2, you go from 35% (1.32) to 31% (1.25). Not stellar, but definitely manageable.

It's indeed way easier to hit a light with PPCs, AC/20 and similar when they're running from you. And I guess streaks are doing quite a good job at it.

My problem with thinking of streaks only as secondary weapons is that it takes a lot of tonnage (9.5t) for something that will be underused. I'm not very experienced with the Griffin but this morning I tested a build that roughly works on the same basis: 2 PPCs as main weapon, plus 2 medium lasers for close range and additional damage. Sure, it's less a repulsive than SSRMs, but it only weights 2 tons, thus freeing tonnage for a bigger engine and, more important, more DHS to cool the PPCs.
