Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros. Ultra comfy, and for MWO as a use case in particular the bass reaches DEEEEEP. Also one of the very best cans for positional audio in games that support virtual surround.
Razer Carcharias here. The main thing I like about them is the cord. It's got a braided cloth exterior, and seems quite durable and flexible. I've had too many headsets break at the strain relief of the plugs, and while soldering new plugs on isn't hard it is annoying to have to do it. Sound and comfort are both good, though not as good as, say, Grado SR80s. The mic is pretty good, and I like the tilting boom design.
This is what I am using. eDimensional AudioFX Force Feedback headset... With the force feedback it's like strapping a small sub woofer to your head. I need to mod it though. I am getting pops and whistles off of the usb line feeding into the audio circuit... shouldn't be too hard to filter that out. I don't think it's available anymore except in the pro version.
I was using the Corsair vengeance 1500 http://www.corsair.com/us/pc-computer-audio/gaming-headsets/vengeance-1500-dolby-7-1-usb-gaming-headset-v2.html, but they have terrible driver software, which still does not play nice with Windows 8. Have switched to Roccat Kave XTD http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Sound/ROCCAT-Kave-XTD-5-1-Digital/ expensive but very nice.
Just like ZXeno, i prefer Steelseries Siberia. Very comfortable, very good sound and ingenoius microphone wiring.
Running a crappy set of deltacos when I have to be able to talk in TS. The rest of the time I'm using my small stereo loudspeakers or my Sennheiser HD215s. Got those Sennheisers when I was doing some subtitling (no, no fansubs. what I did went on the networks) and needed a pair of headphones that didn't let in any outside noise. It was a night and day difference from the cheapish sey of phillips or whatever my previous set was. tl;dr Get a -good- brand, sennheiser, koss, et.c - your ears/parents/partner/roommate will thank you!
Atm I'm using the Fatality headset from Creative - it lasts for quite some long time now (my Logitech and a cheap one were broken quite instantly).
Depending on my mood my usual headset is a pair of sennheiser pc141s http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O554FM/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 they were relatively inexpensive for light headphones with a good range of sound, solid mic, and very nice if you wear glasses or have long hair (primary reason for buying them at the time). The other pair of headphones i use pretty much extensively for my immersion is a pair of Sennheiser hd595s, (current model is now 598s which you can tell from the vominous vanilla color). These cans are pretty much sex for your ears after they take a day to burn in, they are comfortable and give an amazing range of sound, that I cant really describe. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD595-Performance-Premiere-Headphones/dp/B0001FTVE0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393422476&sr=1-1&keywords=sennheiser+595s The price tag when i bough them was about 160 usd, and cost more these days, you can actually get the 598s for about that price. If i need a mic to go with the hd 595s i use a Zalman mic-1 http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393422624&sr=1-1&keywords=zalman+mic which is amazingly better than you could figure for its cost. Neither of my headsets bother me wearing glasses and i have a decently large melon for them to go on, either might be a bit of an investment, but ive had the 141s for about 3 years and the hd595s for about 6 now...i refuse to use anything else. For the hd595s, these will not keep sound in THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED TO MUTE SOUND, this allows for less fuzz and other artifacts hitting your ear, so just be warned if you plan on having your girlfriend sleep next to you while wearing them, buy something else. Other than that, sniperczar good choice on the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros those are some seriously good cans.
i'm using earbuds from my sister's cellphone because i never found a rugged enough headset with a microphone running on TRRS(my computer only has a single audio jack). although sound is okay, its microphone sucks terribly.
Same here. They were actually a gift this past Christmas, and I've been really satisfied with them. Great sound quality, well made, and a very comfortable fit. Soft velvet pads which fit over the ears, similar comfort pad on the top of the head, length adjustment on the arms, and free-swinging ear-pieces to provide the best fit possible. The mic is removable from the main headset; simply plug-and-play. It doesn't swing up alongside the head like some headset mics do, but it is on a completely adjustable arm, which can swivel away wherever you might need it to. There's also a switch on the cord to turn mic input off, as well as a wheel to increase-reduce headphone output volume. It is wired, by the way, with a nice 8 foot cord, which is both light-weight and strong. There aren't any fancy gadgets on the headset, such as a push-to-talk button or anything, but provided you aren't looking for "space-age tech", and you only want a really good quality normal headset, I would definitely recommend this one. (One thing I should mention though, which some ppl might have a problem with but which I don't, is that the input is analogue, not USB. Just a small detail, which as I said, doesn't bother me, but I thought I should add it anyway.) Standard price is roughly 50 USD. 100% satisfaction for me so far, so it definitely gets 5/5 stars! The MA900 were absolutely fantastic but I just couldn't find a good fit and overpaid quite a bit on Amazon for them.
I picked up the V-Moda M-100's along with their Boompro Microphone about 4 months ago. Great sound and a very clear easy to use Mic Great for listening to music and watching movies also...if you need some surround sound with these you can just load up Razer's surround sound software for virtual surround.
I used Tritton 720. But the Headset was already broken after 2 months, 7.1 Surround was not working any more. Nevertheless the sound was pretty good even w/o it, so I kept them. After 1 year of excessive using, the casing broke beyound useability. Now I'm using a Logitech g430. Verfy comfortable but it lacks bass and allround performance for music (I'm DJing with it also....). It has a really good quality though in-game and Teamspeak. Good price too.
