Finally got some battlefield testing for this model and it is absolutely devastating in straight up engagements. The ER Large Laser makes for a good poking weapon and paired with the dual AC2's this mech can manage some scary DPS. 10.5 DPS at ranges beyond a standard PPC, and perfectly sustainable on this many heat sinks. As for the medium laser and SRM pack, its to pair with the AC2 at close range. This thing can fire for almost 6 full seconds with all its weapons, but if the ER Large Laser is taken out in close engagements, you can get as much as 12 seconds of outright blasting. Its even got case installed to stop those nasty torso explosions that happened in the previous model. Usually does around 500-800 damage a match, a absolute powerhouse of a mech.
A design I was playing around with once I got all my elite bonuses. I find that the SRM volley is just a massive close range burst weapon for people who wanted to get in close, so I took out some of its launching capability to make room for another double heat sink and upgrade the medium to a large laser. I also lose a ton of ammo for the AC2, but I think having the non committal damage of the large lasers helps to compensate for the lack of ammo, to the point where it threads the line on good matches. I find with the new modifications this mech is not a design to kill, but it lays open enemies for finishing blows. My first test drop on forest colony did a solid 810 damage and didn't get any kills, but got 11 assists. The second drop I got one kill at least, but did 650 damage.. Not to say this thing isn't capable of killing, but I find it best at ripping open armor for others to exploit. Weapon Firing Groups 1) AC2s 2) Large Laser 3) SRM Pack 4) Large Laser 5) Alpha Strike
