Sadly that is as close as I have ever come to the 1500 club. UMAD has several pilots who are ace Raven jocks and Gumpy holds the record still. Not even HE can beat it I don't think. That was 1 in a million LOL or at least 1 in 1000.
I just did this one in my Awesome. While not huge in the damage total it's respectable in that I don't use arty or air strikes. Also the last two kills were with my LL as I was out of LRM ammo. Both were poptarts. My teammates did most of the damage to the Victor, but the other was a Highlander. I managed to bait him around a rock, then got into his minimum after I legged him. Pretty easy after that point to finish him off as he wasn't able to sustain the turn rate to keep the U/ACs on me while I widdled his other leg off with the Jenner.
Thanks all for the input, it is nice to calibrate your opinion on what is and what is not the max damage potential and the possible major influences (like arty/air). Updated main post with some conclusions.
I wracked up eight kills and some assists in my boom cat the other night. I only got around 700-800 damage though. Does that count?
I know it's not 1700, but it's not bad.. To me the best part of it is that when I was finely killed I had 15% health left. With an XL engine...
Alot of great scores here. (I especially like Stimraug's 1700+ damage and 200+ match score in a DDC; very nice!) I agree with most others here that, although Arty- and Air-Strikes present a totally legitimate and often quite viable option for gameplay, they do tend to boost damage scores considerably, with little skill or effort required. That being said, here are two of my best matches, neither of which used an Arty- or Air-Strike. They were both accomplished using just conventional weapons. I got this one last night. (2x LB10, 4x SSRM2, 1x SL) And then there's this one, which I got a while back, and which currently holds the record in both damage and match score for me. (5x LL, 24x DHS, STD300) http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/cjf4z5bhk7avggamlswk.jpg[/img]
Had some good drops with my teammates some time ago and it's the best DDC score I have (at 2014-02-28): But I have reached my new personal record yesterday while having ordinary Pretorian legion 4 man drop practice: http://assets.enjin.com/wall_embed_images/1395769560_1936-dmg-6-kills.jpg[/img] That's my best score so far. The match took some time but it was really interesting.
While there are some very impressive numbers here I have to be "that" party pooper. What happened to the view that you should take your opponent down as fast and hard as possible to minimise incoming damage and crush the other teams spirit? I am sad enough to track my month by month damage per kill with every mech and a high number isn't good. hear: Love you all but someone had to say it! PS: Don't be "that" raven with 1,000+ and 1 kill!
Well, I noticed that the games I dealt the most damage were usually the ones I said myself "your aim sucks, this guy should have been dead for ages".
Take another look at the thread topic please? It's not a hall of glory, it's just a scale of measurement to see max damage and that helps us in builds aswell as appreciating the damage done in screenshots by certain builds in relation to others. I couldn't care less about KDR or damage ingame as long as I have a good time and help the team.
Is it really not a Hall of Glory from the comments in this thread? How does 1,700 for 3 kills really tell you anything? The relevant information was almost certainly actually that he paired up with a ballistic heavy hitter (that Ily perchance?) and between them they were a very effective 1-2. Heres a prediction - er laser boats do high damage low kills, ballistics do high kills low damage. Not convinced thats news really. PS: God I sound grouchy and old but I'm typing from work and bored witless.
