Unlike some of the theory crafting builds, this one I've actually run. Boatloads of fun. Not going to be the new meta but I easily get kills and between 300 and 500 damage. Once it's elited it will be even better. Give it a whirl, this mech is pretty fun!

    "Pics or it didn't happen."

    ;)

Understand that this build (4T SRM ammo, 1T MG ammo) was my best guess at a viable theory crafted build for this hero. I just have my doubts that this mech could truly preform in it's BEST build.

Not enough firepower. The handeling itself is all good and happy, like a 3L with JJ, but the weaponary is clearly lacking. Your SRM4 would perform better than a 3L with SRM4 due to the tubes, but without the energy slot your damage dealing ability is significantly reduced.

I find myself using mostly the SRM4 as the main damage dealing weaponary, the MG as auxillary weapon. SRM, being how it is currently, is only effective against assaults and slow heavies (unless point-blank), and this shows when light-vs-light combat is required, as you are left with MG and the others have energy weaponary support. Just give me one energy hardpoint on the CT already!

I will test a streak variant after this and see how that would work out. Maybe this would work better as a light hunter wih streaks equipped.

Forgot to nab a shot of the match leaderboard before it kicked me back to the mechbay, but even if you turn that into 0 kills and 10 assists, I'm loving the performance of this build for this chasis. 5-stars because without a coveted energy hardpoint, I think it's the best you can do for reliable drops (so five stars compared to other Huggin, not other Ravens). Only difference in my drop was XL 280 with an extra half ton of ammo, because I currently couldn't afford an XL 285 and don't have any laying about.

Never going back to LRMs or dakka-chicken or another variant.

Okay, so maybe I'll try an LRM loadout for tonnage-based drops with groups, but my default drop is now this loadout .

Little bit of Huginn love today. I use an XL 280 2 Tons of MG ammo, 3 and a half tons of SRM4 ammo. Was down to my last 8 MG rounds when I downed the last mech.

It needs huge skill or luck to get such score with this setup, but it could be nightmare for some opened mechs :)

I am now enjoying RVN-3L "CQC" build: less mobile version, hot, but its working :)

As much as I like this build, I can't help but feel that the Huginn just isn't that great of a hero mech. I wish there was a way to make it more useful, as it is it's a decent crit seeker but a rather inferior one compared to the Oxide or the Ember. Still, hard to argue with a raven with JJs.

Why buy a new, expensive XL engine? This keeps the stock XL280 and adds 1/2 ton of MG ammo. Could do 1/2 of SRM instead if you like.

    5/5,
It's what I run. Good punch with the SRM 4s

This is what I'm running since the quirks hit. The SRMs are so fast now I needed more ammo. I only use the MGs either as a quick shot to tag stuff for assists or when things are opened up. BAP helps me hit those parts quicker.

I could probably lower the arms to almost nothing and fit another half ton of MG ammo or SRM ammo on. The arms rarely ever get hit.

I go squish real quick if someone sneezes hard in my direction, but man I can rip assaults to shreds real quick if I get in behind them.

Even though I usually run out of ammo at the end of the match (400 srm, 3000 MG), I end up leaving a pile of mechs behind me as well. This build is wonderful for taking down lone assaults fast (usually getting behind them and giving their back door a knockin) and has actually become a viable mech ever since the quirks hit. You're unloading your srm's so fast that the enemy doesn't realize it's a little raven unleashing hell on them. Love this build!!

    5/5,
Very effective and destructive with the addition of quirks. Can net many kills and a large amount of damage for a light mech

    5/5,
Awesome build that suits the quirks.

MY only change is that I run mine with 500 rounds of SRM and 2000 MG

    5/5,
Depending on your preferred playstyle, this is - together with the OXIDE - now a very strong light mech. I would even say that it is at the top (FS9-A, oxide, FS9-H and Huginn) of the light world in the current state of the game. Some people omit the MGs but as this is mech is DPS based anyway, why would you do that really...

    5/5,
The very first time I ran this build (first time piloting a Raven also), I got two kills. It requires a different play style than I am used to, you have to think like an assassin, lurking and picking off the weak and unsuspecting. :blackalien: But what do you expect? It's named after the raven, after all. Very fun! :D
