So not 3 UAC's and not 4 AC/5's but somewhere in between... 416 pts of armor, 78kph tweaked and basically a Gauss rifle that fires every 1.5 seconds, with some energy backup. And pretty good cooling obviously. This build will get you 60 shots. More of a balanced, all around performer here. So far I'm pretty happy with it... Thanks for reading!
Some games from 6-10: ...and like a knucklehead I didn't screencap the game I went 700+ and 4-1 in before I started saving these scores tonite  ... this is proving to be a pretty solid build. Yeah I know: vids or it didn't happen right? Here you go: (this can run in 1080) ...and a crazy River City night game, lost on caps, blah... ... hung in there and shot pretty well though... vid link below:
Hi there, i somehow like to have multiple AC/5s in a mech. I tried a similar build on a CTF-4X with much success. Its a very good alternative for players who likes to use DPS Dakka.Power with secondary Backup.Lasers and good Speed, but who dont want to make the unsatisfying/xpensive tradeoffs for a fourth AC/5. For Cockpit.Shaking/Distortion its a very solid build. Your build has enough Ammo for most matches, high Armor, very good Cool Efficiency, good Defense Power and high DPS Firepower at good Ranges. Full stars from me. Personally i would strip some Armor and a DHS to fit in one more ML for an even stronger Laserpunch. Like this: Blagg Zear
my variation, I don't like XL engines for heavies and up I feel too much risk for reward for the most part. So this is a STD Variant. This is my results I get. On average it's a bout 400 - 600 I'm not the greatest heavy mech pilot but I think it does well.
Nice tweak, Veronika. (and welcome to MechSpecs) Good way to put more survivability into a strong initial build. Personally, I would consider pulling some of that armor from the head to the legs. In over 300 drops in a Jager, I've only died once to a cockpit destruction and I only ever run 10 points of armor. However, Ammo explosion in the legs can be devastating. Just a suggestion. It's obviously netting you great results. Warchanter; I don't know how you do it. I don't think I've seen you post a single build I didn't fall in love with. Excellent use of the weight to get massive DPS. I tried 4xAC/5 on my Jag and it was just sloppy. Two felt weak. Evidently, I'm just a fool and never thought to run the third. Too caught up in symmetry. Great build. 5-5! Chatt.
I'm with you on this build Veronika... I'm not very fond of XL engines in Jagermechs, and tend to pull around 450-500 on a regular basis in this mech.... here is what I run JM6-S
This is my video of the outstanding JM6-S "Compromiser" by WarChanter. I downgraded to the 255 instead of the 280 to give me another ton of pew pew and another Medium laser for more zap. Tom from PGI was on my team in this match and I instantly bug him about fixes to thermal vision. According to him, Garth wants to return to the old colored thermals because they performed better on video cards. Check it out and remember to like...or dislike if you want me to cry. Just uploaded this to Youtube so if it isn't ready yet give it a few minutes. 9c_JIIG7kwE
Pretty straightforwards 3x AC/5 set up. Abuse hills and ridges to alpha volley, and always make sure you're not the one getting focused. POSITIONING IS KEY- you will die in a fire if your position sucks, and achieve god like damage if you have taken a good position. The volley isn't very high, but this Jager has extremely high consistent DPS which is great at coring and blowing up other mechs. The extra ammo is a must. You WILL use it all- don't even try taking pot shots. Make sure you lead correctly and make every volley count. The AMS is necessary because you're already a soft target just due to the XL with big hitboxes; it also buys the team (and you) some time to set up positions while LRMs are raining down. No extra heat sinks are included, but the mech is able to get off 10 or so consistent volleys with the MLas before heat starts to become an issue on the hotter maps. DON'T FORGET to use the MLas (it's easy to when you're trying to lead AC shots); they add critical damage and that's your main purpose on the battlefield. So does this build do damage if you follow my pointers? Well, these screenies are from under 24 hours worth of play; you tell me
I'm liking 4x MLas backing up 3x AC5. It turns idle engine time and AC5's natural coolness into max DPS if you get pushed/closed on. Plus the whole 'not ammo limited' thing, in case you get lucky enough to go through 200+ rounds.
EDIT: Just found out that my variation on this already existed on the forum! The amount of armor on places that won't be hit is too damn high! I reduced that a lot, removed 1 ML and put in a UAC5 for backup burst. if it fails you still have 2 reliable AC5s to bring the hurt while your UAC5 is repairing itself behind building cover.
