Just got tired of getting 600-850 games with my last UAC5/AC2 build so I decided to go back and give the Gauss Rifle another shot.

First game turned out pretty well.

Seems like a decently effective mech if you can get over the differing firing systems/firing styles of of ac's vs gauss.

That said, with that low of an ammo load out I would replace the uac5 for an ac5 just for the ton of ammo. The Uac is a better weapon, but not enough better to justify a low ammo load out in its favor.

That upgrades to a 255 engine, and has 8 tons of ammo vs your original 6. If you feel you must have the laser, remove 1 ton ammo and still have 1 ton more ammo than your original configuration.

The Xl245 is also a pretty bad engine. It only weighs .5 tons less than a xl255 after you add the mandatory heatsink. Try only going as low as a 255 on jagers unless you all the way down to an xl200. As a general rule multiples of 25 are the best engines, with the exception of the 255 because it weighs the same as a 250- which is why it is so frequently used.

Anyway, hope you appreciate the suggestions, and keep on Jager'in.

A bit little Gauss Ammo still, You can get rid of 1 ton of armor like this and mount another ton of Gauss:

Put the gauss ammo next to the rifle!!! This means there is less chance for the enemy to critically hit your gauss, as it can hit your ammo instead (which does not explode, as opposed to the rifle)

Personally I'm not a fan of the build, mostly because I'm not a fan of the gauss' charge up time, which leaves you exposed, or you pre-charge, pop out of cover and can't find a target within the small timelimit, putting it unnecessarily on cooldown.
Also, 3 different weapon types and corresponding different projectile speeds. If you can make it work however, good luck :)
