I would drop two of the medium lasers (they're mostly backup anyway) along with the heatsinks to add two more tons of ammo and some much needed armor.
Small point, but moving the Gauss Ammo into the arms with the rifles should help crit-pad them a bit. Gauss Rifles need all the help they can get. Also safe, as Gauss Rounds cannot explode/cause damage.
I can see the logic in keeping the ammo in the legs (as opposed to the arms), only because if you burn through half of your ammo and lose your right arm, your other gun goes dry. Me? I'd put a heatsink in each arm as a crit buffer. I'm not sure what to say about the MLASes. With the armor and turning speed of this 'mech, you won't live but a few seconds against a dedicated brawler. If the lasers are just for harassment of lights, you may be able to move to SLASes, and use the extra tonnage in armor (or engines). I tooled around and made this: It's not stupendous, but the extra speed and armor should protect you (some) from getting pecked apart.
Thank you Archwright, you have solved my Jagermech delemma. This 'mech now has the speed to get where it needs to be, the firepower to suppress the enemy when it gets there and the armor to take the damage sure to come it's way once it opens fire. Thanks to Catra Kell for starting this thread. Myth.
Managed to get a good 10 ~ 12 drops pug in this - I love it, if you stay back and play support you can easily snag 1-3 kills a game, one game I even got 5 with over 800 damage done. Did 5 8 vs 8 competitive drops in it - still performed well snagging between 2 - 3 kills a game with a good team (A.C.E.S) backing me up as I hit those Atlases and Awesomes in the CT and either got the kill or assists as team cleaned up. Overall better then I expected build. All games done Post LRM patch!
I am currently running this build with 2x Med. Lasers. I really like the the ability to shoot over hills and ridges while maintaining cover, as well as the alternating Gauss fire that makes everyone duck out of the way. Thanks for the build guys. On to the next one. Myth.
Not sure about rules about Videos in the section - but Two videos of this build in the 8 vs 8 Competitive setting [video=youtube;0RywNZytsXk]
I encourage people to post videos. Theory craft is all well and good but until you see proof it didn't happen
I wanted to say thank you for the video's, I really enjoyed them. I do have 1 question and it is kind of off topic but not sure where to ask it so here goes. In the video your team had the enemies marked with letters A, B, etc. How are you marking them, it seems so much easier to just call out a letter than trying to call out names. I apologize for this being in the wrong area, just not sure where to ask it.
When you pull up a target there should be a letter by the target indicator - so we call "Primary / Target Alpha (A) " and usually repeat that a few times.
Very nice! I like it a lot. The armor is a little low for my tastes so I've shifted things around a little for my own personal tastes. This build has a steeper heat curve and as such lower sustained DPS but the same overall DPS/burst and much more armor. I've also shifted more of the armor forward facing (where you're more likely to take hits). Watch your back!
DPS is damage per second. It's the rate at which you can deal damage. Maximum DPS is the highest achievable DPS when firing all of your weapons. Sustained DPS is the DPS you can keep up without overheating.
Why my xl 295 always gets blown out so easily despite the armor i put on it? its always has been engine engine engine engine sigh......
XL engines extend into your side torso's and correspondingly get destroyed when you lose a side torso. You have to work on distributing damage you take across your mech in order to survive. Alternatively you can use a standard engine but compromising something else.
