The claws open and close! The reward skin is part of the same set as the Atlas and Centurion rewards. And people have been commenting that the Gargoyle in orange is... Pedo-goyle. XD
looks awesome but the ballistics on the king crab looks a bit weird. If those are ac20s then they seems a bit small, kind of like the same problem with the centurion cannon arm.
Uhm, I don't think they look all that small, a good portion of the gun could be hidden away in the other portion of the lower arm. Or do you mean they ought to be larger in diameter?
NGNG posted some gameplay footage of the King Crab up on YouTube by the way. Hard to link to it from my iPod touch, but I is easy to find. Looks awesome!! Might actually give IS something to compete with the Dire Whales.
All I heard was ...More Direwhales. jk it will be nice to see the model but i think gameplay wise it will provide more slow fwt targets for my lights.
Killed multiple Direwolves in my DRG-1N last night..... they're really not hard to kill nowadays. Asking for larger AC20's is silly as they just get targetted. Lets be honest we're just all going to target the arms as it is.
Agreed. A DWF is a terror for PUGs, but against skilled players, it's just so easily isolated and focused down. WHK at least has the speed and agility to control its engagement a bit...
I wouldn't subscribe this. It depends on the builds both side have and their pilot skills. Check up first match of this capture:
Larger means a wider barrel. I don't think the hitbox actually change, and the hit area change is minimal even if it is.You don't get a wider or longer gun, just a meaner looking barrel.
Looking at the Gargoyle, I like the model...but I am a bit worried about those arms. Could suffer from Atlas-itis with hardpoints way too low to be effective around any sort of hill...
How comes Sean Lang is still earning cadet bonuses??? Though when I saw how he was shooting those AC/2s.... what a noob. Oh oh, 6 AC/2s will probably be viable! Remember 5 AC/2s are viable on the Jagermech, and you have here 35 more tons to work with. Here's a theory-crafted build (36 tons and 6 slots free for the ACs). On the other hand, 5 AC/5s is not possible, you only have 10 crits (at max) per arm and you'd need 12 on one side to mount 3 ACs.
The L version does get AC/20 speed and cooldown quirks. Look carefully at the links though, the quirk links are in a different order. http://www.reddit.com/r/OutreachHPG/comments/2oirke/sneak_peek_king_crab_assault_battlemech/
Here, ther hardpoints and the quirk, for the lazy: Special (Type L) : 6B2E2M with Ballistic focus and AC20 special. This is for all Ballistic needs. Type B: 4B3E3M with generic quirks for everything. Gauss + PPC?, maybe 4x AC2 (with LL and SRM) since AC2 does not take cooldown bonus. Basic : 2B4E4M with generic energy and missile quirks. Thinking about 2x LBX10(or AC10) with energy and SRM support. .Not bad.
Look at that yaw speed!! 99°/s is fast. Good luck getting out of his sights. DireWhale is 60°/s, Fatlas is 72°/s with 360 Engine.
They're from the link in my post above him. As far as I've seen, there's nothing yet for the Gargoyle as far as quirks go. But the mwo page on wave 2 has all the hardpoints and weapons layouts for the Gargoyle.
And that is with a STD300 (I checked the link and loadout images). It has the exact same armor as the atlas, except 2 pts less in CT to distribute.
