King Crab will change the Tide of War? (Pre-Release Discussion)

My thoughts:

XL Engine on a Kingcrab.. no way jose! Iglesias's concept design doesn't seem to be as wide as the original, but...
even with an XL it will be a relatively slow, easy to hit, bulky target. Risky!

Torsotwist: Will be there, but veeeeery restricted I guess.

2x20 Penalty: Since this is the Prime it might get some quirks regarding this issue like the Awesome did with PPC's.
But I don't see any heat problems here.
BTW: Why drive 2x20 if you can drive AC20/G if you are so woried about heat buildup? Used to do that on a cata K back in the day....


IMHO The scales will move a bit towards the IS, but still.... the Daishi will remain the King of Pain(dealing)...

 

Actually a crab would hold quite some more DHS, so heat is not too bad, really. On top of that, a -10% HEat production on ballistic weapon would help.

On the side not. From the OP picture... you guys getting crabs also?

The one on the left look more like a crab than king crab. (difference between a pikachu/pichu and a raichu)

 

I am also curious, how quickly they will roll out all of the variants of the KGC around the time that the Anniversary qualifications are met. I know they said Decemberish as a gift for people that met the requirements, but then are they going to release the king crab for Credits right away? Idk..

 

MC release is December 16th, same as the gift variant, and cbill release is January 20th.

 

Bleh... I will have the gift KGC, but then I dont get to play with all of the other variants during the holidays unless I open my wallet. So sad

It's not a Hero. Just like the Founder, Phoenix and Invasion mechs it will be purchasable on cbill (without the camo and cbill bonus, but same hardpoints).

 

I said essentially a hero, meaning it gets the custom paint job and 30% bonus of a hero. I never said it actually was a hero.

 

I think they are considered to be champion mech with special paintjobs. Different bonus, but otherwise the same.

 

Yes, the one on the left is the crab. I want a 3xLLas crab so badly.

Invasion variants are champions with unique geometry/paintjob and a 30% c-bill bonus. Which essentially makes them a hero variant. KGC will probably be the same.
