Just figured I'd pass on some info from the Town Hall, Russ mentioned that there is going to be a competition that will give away a free CTF-3D(C) with a mech bay over the weekend. https://mwomercs.com/tournaments Feel free to make a real news post and delete this one Looks like another one of "those" competitions though, 1 kill, 1 assist, and win. Looks like I'm pulling out my 3L for this one!
I suppose its doable. 1 kill and 1 assist is easy to get but a win? in PUG Land? That is more challenging LOL but ok we will see what we can see. They must be trying to pump up the numbers again.
Group or PUG eligble I believe? At least that's how I read it. Predict group queue will be complete rolls as teams will just go for all out quick wins, back to back. 30 wins is quite a bit, could be as much as 60 tries before simple averages help. I am going to see how aggravating the gameplay is this weekend before comitting.
The big thing that I thought about here (had to re-read and make sure I was right) is that this won't be quite the same as the last time they did the 1K/1A/Win result. The last time they did this, you also had to survive the match, so people were being cowards once they had a kill and assist, and that caused problems for a lot of people. Thanks to that last stipulation being gone, I will probably try to get my 30 in my Dragon instead, since it's almost guaranteed to get at least one kill and assist per game, and I've carried quite a few in that bad boy. It might be annoying, especially in PUG land, but their lack of exclusion of group drops in the text makes me think it's all-inclusive. Hell, it may even count CW (though that would be a bad way to grind a tournament). So worst case scenario is PUG only, which means drop in your most lethal mech and go balls out to do as much damage to the team to try and guarantee a win. Best case allows for groups, and you team up with as many people as you can to wreak havoc
Yep. And since I've long since mastered my CTF-3D, hey, potential free mechbay & some cbills. No need for a second one.
Eh... It's the best of the CTFs, but if I had 2 of them I couldn't have an FS9-S, a JR7-F, and a RVN-3L. And without that my drop deck is gutted!
This. Removal of then survival condition will make this MUCH easier than the last one, which was a pain in the a$$ tbh and the first challenge ever I didn't complete in all ranks possible.
I have a 3D as well, but I figure I will just sell my normal one, and keep the (C) for the bonuses Rarely play it anyway, but it's still a fun mech.
Well amusingly things get easy this time as courtesy of CW I have about 8 pre-built/moduled mechs so I'll just churn them as soon as I die if it looks like we or they are being rolled. Will stay to give warnings/pss on information if its close. Not sure I can be bothered though except I seem to remember the CTF-3D (c) has a good XL engine I could use elsewhere.
Admittedly, the CB was a guesstimate on sales price of the regular 3D stripped of engine. Not sure what the sales price would be on 3D(c). But yeah, feels a bit underwhelming unless gameplay is good.
I allready have this mech, but the mechbay is nice and I wanted to do some CBill Farming this WE anyway. 30 Wins with Kill shouldn`t be this difficult (Mathematical: 10 Points/Evening)
too many wins, I'd prefer older conditions maybe with less wins even tho with my spider 5D I'd not fear the old formula
Gonna give it a go. Real life tends to get in the way though! I will at least get the three premium days to not enjoy over the weekend! haha
I'm actually considering to get just 2 wins over Saturday and Sunday, get the last game monday and the log off before redeeming, so I will actually be able to use a bit of premium. Now if only I had something I really wanted to level on sale...
Well I have loads of Premium but am tempted to just do 3 qualifying wins to get the +3 days added.....
I have a month of banked premium running atm and will get those 3 days extension. Trying to get 30 wins over the course of "this" weekend will probably result in a divorce, so I'll stay content with only the one CTF-3D.
