  1. Not sure if I want to kiss, marry or just kill with this mech.

    Yes, there is ghost heat on 2xMRM40s and for the seventh SRM2. But 134.1 alpha looks better than 129.8, right?

    Ammo is low. Could trade that SRM2 for more ammo and save on heat at the same time. But that leaves a missile slot open. :(

    Take all the cooling and missile ammo skills. Warning again - hot and low on ammo.

    If you bump down to MRM-30s there is no heat penalty. This seems to be the optimal solution to this mech, and give you hideous burst damage at close range, you can fire the SRM-2s twice for 60 +28 +28 +24 = 130 damage before overheating.

  3. Going 2xMRM40 gives you 1.6 ghost heat.
    The 7th SRM2 gives an extra 2.24 ghost heat.
    So for 20 extra MRM damage you are paying 5.61 total extra heat. Vs. 3.84 heat for the extra SRM2 for 4.3 damage at a shorter range.
    The short cool down will incur the SRM2 ghost heat penalty more often.

    IMO the better option is to keep the 2xMRM40s and drop one of the SRM2s for more ammo.

    You can still alpha and follow up with 6xSRM2 without shutting down on Caustic.

    I want to maximize the first shot damage.

    Your right actually 2 MRM 40s is more heat efficient than MRM 30s, and 6 SRMs are more heat efficient than 7!
    This can allow you to fire 2 Salvos from the MRMs and 4 Salvos from the SRMs before overheating, thats 160+ 96 = 256 Missile damage. in 4.7s!

    I ditched the pulse lasers for ER-SLs

    I personally favour sustain over burst in the current meta, so this is my build:

     
  5. I like it. The extra heat sinks will help.

    Even though this build can bring a lot of damage, most of it is pretty scattered.

    Most of the time I am relying on the lasers and SRM2s after the initial salvo to secure the kill. The extra heat sinks will help with that and will help with using just MRMs at targets beyond 300 meters.
