With all the recent backlash PGI received in regards to having 3PV (3rd Person View) in the game, and how it might, and does, affect competitive drops. The folks at PGI are stepping up and have decided to put this issue in the hands of you, the community and the players. Behold, a poll was born (and lived a very short life apparently as it is now closed). So it looks like everyone, who saw this thread, gave a resounding 'Hell Yeah' and PGI listened. From the desk of Bryan Eckman we have the following quote.... So, if you are a competitive player and you are wanting to make sure that those you face are on the same level, and restricted to simulator style play, this should be of great news to you! Now go and buy some Phoenix Packs so I can get my Marauder already
I like this, I like this a whole bunch I would say if 3pv has to be in the game that this is a great compromise !
How does one go about getting into a 12v12 pre-made group? I've only ever done PUG drops myself... Is there some kind of mechanic in the game to join groups?
Join a TS3 server, such as NGNG or others. Try to get into any of the Merc units there, or try to join into their Team Speak Tuesday event.
So all our female dogging has paid off!!! Yay! Now at least the serious side of the game is protected from 3PV! Even though unfortunately I pug most of the time due to time zone issues (I am in asia) I am happy that this is done. At least, MWO's focus as a Mech simulator is encouraged. I think we do not have to worry about this game mutated to just another 3pv mech shooting game for now.
See this? this is amazing...devs that actually listen. Sometimes i think we just forget that we aren't the only ones requesting stuff from them. There's so many different play styles its hard for a game, and even more so for a beta, to try and make everyone happy.
