Finally, some Word back to the Community!!! Skirmish mode, I can not WAIT!!! now, Time is still a factor. Either way, NONE of this can wait!!! except clan tech, that can wait for another year for all I care. Other IS weapons first
But still, even with this very nice newsflow, I am not inclined to go buy more MC on this last day of the sale. The meat is promised but not on the table, yet.
Engineering? Still a few phases away from live game, ugh. Oh well; will try to keep tabs on things in the meantime.
So we are replacing our buggy crappy UI with a EVEN MORE buggy UI2.0 ?? Good grief. The window glare seems nice for looks though, but I can imagine turning it off anyways if the sun lighting obstructs me in even the slightest bit (aka just turn down the graphics) Fixing hitbox... they should have done that a long time ago. Community Warfare... not big on it. Somehow I think that would reduce the amount of games I can play per day, which sucks. Either that or force us to buy dropship thingy in MC to play more games. Solaris and TDM is love!! YAY! New gamemode is great also. Shitty Clan Mech idea... that sucks, without any other way to put it. Whoever made that decision should go eat a million exploding AC20 ammo while drowning in ghost heat in the middle of the Thunderdome of Mordor.
C'mon dudes, don't be too pessimistic. Just smile a bit that there will come Changes, which the Game definitely needs so much. 2014 will be the Year where MWO will look totally differently to 2013 - my imagination. I believe in them and wish them & us the best for a better gaming experience! Keep smiling dudes
I agree that there are good things in the report which I love alot. The introduction of game modes is WONDERFUL. Whatever it is it will introduce more gameplay options. I am even happy about the change of swanpoints they do currently. The spawns may not be the best, but it adds variety so far. And things can get tuned over tim. Hack, I don't mind them changing it now and then every month or so! Same goes for the hitbox fixing. It is something they should have done some time ago, yes, but at least they are doing it. I don't get a wow out of it, but still, it is a nice thing. I understand the art team is just what it is, working on nice looking stuff like modules and paintjobs and now nice looking WYSIWYG guns on the mech. So I am happy they are doing something like good looking glass cockpit. That having said, they might want to fix things like trees in maps, or weird way ppc shot looks in lower graphics (thy look like lightning from the sky sometimes) and what not. Probably more important than a glass cockpit. Then again, since the art people aren't responsable for map design and gameplay related issue, doing something other than yet another paintjob variant is always a welcom thing. The whole extra XP thing on modules is weird, it may just be the idea they need. I would say look at a game called border break" for inspiration. It is a japan only game for the most part and is on arcade platform so borrowing inspirations for it is totally cool and nice. I don't know how to suggest this to the dev though without posting it on the forum (it is better that this suggestion to be an under the table thing still). That game have a complex system for rewarding everything you do (like 5-9 pts for killing, 3 pts for damage assist, 2 pts per x seconds of base capture, 2 pts for x spotting, x pts for doing y damage to objective. 3 pts for fighting/dying inside a capture point, etc... alot more). But the way they talk about UI 2.0 is basically that it is an UNFINISHED product and they are going to launch it anyways. Maybe they should work on a more functional system that is less graphic intensive? Function should go first rather than fancy graphics when it comes to mech construction and what not. I mean, you know you are doing it wrong when a simple minimalist design like smurfy is a thousand times easier to use than your official construction kit. They should focus on function rather than the whole "Look! a roatating 3D Robot!" bit. I would even want to have a function to shut that down unless I am playing with paintjobs. I personally don't like they way they tone down clan mech, instead they should have a tonnage system that balances both sides of a battle, and Clan mech should account for more tonnage. But still, there is a chance they will get this right, eventually, I hope. And yes I see community warfare as a way to make us pay more if we want to play more games in a day. From how thay are doing this game and how they are advertising it, this is something like a fps. So this game should nto have things like "dropship travelling tim" and the like which would hemper how many games you can play continuously. That is just an excuse to make people pay to play more.
