Since the mouse for my laptop just died I'm going to use the Roccat Lua I bought a month ago with my laptop and I ordered a Sharkoon mouse by recommendation High anticipation for that Drakonia
Mine arrived today, and it's really comfortable!! extra buttons at the right places, I'm really glad you showed me that company Blagg!
Let us know how it works out!!! I'm interested in upgrading my mouse in a month or two for another button or two but I want macro software with mine.
The Sharkoon Drakonia Black has macro support, though the software looks/feels very cheap. Also weights (with full weights it's really heavy, a bit too much my liking), enough buttons (3 for thumb, 1 at ring finger, 4-way scroll wheel), threaded cable, gold plated USB, all the good stuff. As far as features and comfort go it's really insanely good for the price. 3 tiny remarks though is that the front thumb button is a bit too far to the front for my small thumb and that the DPI switch is a bit weirdly placed (far back and one of those slider buttons), easy to go down, not so easy to go up. There are several set DPI settings (600-1200-2000-3000-4800-6400-8200) that can't be switched off, so you need to click a few times for DPI which may suck if you're in a high-level fast-paced shooter. You can of course bind DPI to the scroll wheel and then it's gonna be a bit more accessible. And I guess it doesn't have 'Razer' or 'SteelSeries' logo's on it.
Let me know what you think of this Blagg. I am in the market for a new mouse since my previously trusty G5 isn't tracking correctly anymore...
I have put my comments on the Drakonia Black a few replies above, I'll also be interested in your views on the mouse
ok here is my summary about the Drakonia B: 1. great design/looks 2. good material quality for the sensational cheap price - other companies demand the double for the same 3. very ergonomic, feels very comfortable - at least for me. 3. plenty of buttons, and they are positioned well - no problem with my hand. Though i can't scroll sidewards 4. weighs enough to make it a "Heavy" among all mices 5. Feels very good in my hand, better than even my beloved Fireglider! 6. Clicks sound softer than many other mice 7. DPI is insanely high, so best for Snipers 8. Software is ok, though Macros are limited in 8 buttons! And if you created several profiles, you need the Software to change the profiles. 9. High quality cable 10. Rubberized surfaces I can definitely recommend this legendary Gaming Mouse.
What do you mean by this? Only 8 of the buttons can be programmed with macros or that the software is very limited in the type and length of macro that you can make? I just had my scroll wheel finally go on my Logitech (I can click it and it works but I can't scroll with it) so am in the market now. Deciding between the Death Adder and the Drakonia Black
I mean the length of the Macro. You can't put more than 8 Buttons together. Well, who really needs more? My Recommendations for Gaming Mice: Roccat Kova/Savu/Kone Logitech G400s/G500s Gigabyte M8000X Sharkoon Darkglider/Drakonia Razer Deathadder/Taipan/Imperator A4Tech XL-747H Mad Catz Cyborg Rat 5 These mice are legendary!!! (good-excellent performance/price ratio) p.s.: if you want to go cheap with best performance, then definitely go for the Drakonia B (or Darkglider). -> REVIEW1 -> REVIEW2 I also recommend to read the customer reviews at Amazon
I'd say go for the Drakonia. Its features are around the same but the price is way better. Even though it's cheap, it doesn't feel cheap. Then again, I haven't tried a Razor before, my only other gaming mice experience are Roccat. It's a large mouse (13 cm length, 8 cm width), and feels very comfortable as Blagg already said. The pink and thumb rests are (unlike their rough appearance) very nice. I'm using it without weights because it's still around 110g, but you can add 30 g in the shape of 6x 5g weights if you want a really heavy mouse. The buttons are (mostly) perfectly placed. I was afraid to accidentally hit the button under my thumb, but that doesn't happen. The rubberized surface is also a really neat feature. 5 profiles to choose from which you can each give their own colour so you know when you have the 'workspace' or 'mechwarrior' or 'RPG' setting selected (in my case). You can also individually adjust sensitivity in X and Y axis, which I found helps me a lot in MWO (I set my Y axis sensitivity a bit lower for my arm control). also each button is fully customizable with neat features, I especially like the 'open explorer window' and 'switch window' functions for my workspace configuration. There are a few drawbacks that might make the deciding factor though: - Set DPI values, no Min/Maxing to your preference - the DPI switch and the 'forward' button are the only buttons slightly oddly placed (you can turn the 4-way scrollwheel into a DPI switch for your gaming profile though) - the software DOES feel cheap as opposed to the mouse.
Thanks for this. I was looking at the Roccat Kone, but was holding off because of the price point. This mouse might be exactly what I've been looking for. And, as a Ski, I appreciate the inclusion of poleski on the back of the box, although being 3rd generation American I can only curse in polish, so it doesn't really help much
Poleski 4ever! I love the Witcher Games - so epic and sexy! ow and don't forget to buy the Mouse Mat also!
No love for Steelseries. Bah! It's a great company that goes unnoticed so often. They have a crap line in Best Buy, but, some great hardware online.
I was considering the Sensei RAW but the rest is just too expensive to my taste. + TOO MANY SPECIAL VARIANTS.
I like Steelseries. My headset and my keyboard are Steelseries. I never tested their mouses. But if one day my beloved MX518 died I might go for a Sensei Raw - it seems it's a fine mouse and I like the sober look.
Must have been a good boy last year, since Santa brought me a Roccat Kone XTD - I love it! Extremly soft gliding, good shape of the body (at least it fits my hand perfectly), nice haptic (feels fantastic), all the buttons are in a good range and the mousewheel has the right mix of going soft/sturdy, the software setup is easy to handle (even the shiftbutton function (you can setup 2 different buttons for "shift" or turn it off if u dont want/need it) - the driver has a good UI), the extra weight is good to have (I like it heavy) and its glowing in the dark - but you can turn that off if its irritating (different glow/blink modes though). I was using a Logitech MX518 before and im not regretting the change.
