I see that I am having to change the names and text of my posts on the Alternate Configurations I have posted. these changes are to help people under stand that they are not my design but in fact it is a STOCK build from this book http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Technical_Readout:_3050

I like the idea of the dual AMS Nova. I would Swap out the cMPL for more cDHS.

I do agree with you on droping the MPLaser.
In TT I have always forgot about it only used the ERPPCs. Hell 90% I forgot about my AMS that were on my mechs
But that MPL feels like FASA felt like adding 2 more HS would make it OP or something the extra DHS is a better choice. maybe the idea was to fire 2 ERPPCs next turn 1 ERPPC and mpl next 2 ERPPCs.

The only issue I have with straight-up dual-PPC Novas is that they suffer once a precision striker like an Ember or Nova really closes the gap. You get a nice long-range punch, but up close you're particularly vulnerable, and from behind it's easy to core the LT/RT and strip the weapons off this thing in a hurry, whereas having some backup lasers gives you something to try to run your harasser off with, at the cost of more heat expenditure. It's definitely a matter of playstyle, of course, but it's still a fairly severe weak point when you're dealing with the lights that can break 150kph. If they're well-piloted, of course.
